The Invitation Form Guide & Tips
(1) Stefi Magnetica ($7.50)
She is a class act that should be better for the fresh up run for fourth, and we’re not leaving her out of our picks.
Her best form comes in the spring, and although she’s only a four-time winner overall, she knows when to strike when the big money is available.
(2) Manaal (Best Bet – $4.80)
It’s good to see Manaal back to her best, and not every well-performed age-group runner comes back as an older horse.
The Michael Freedman-trained mare owns six wins from 15 starts after scoring her last two at Rosehill, and she is a four-time winner at Randwick.
We think she’s going under the radar at each-way odds.
(3) Miss Roumbini ($4.00)
We’re not surprised to see her installed as the favourite. Her form this season has been excellent, and she’s getting close to posting a win.
She ran second behind Magic Time and Sepals, with Magic Time since running in The Everest last week. That’s good form, so she goes into Invitation picks.
(4) Firestorm ($17.00)
She was disappointing last time out, and we’re not sure where to put her. We need to see something before parting ways with our money.
(5) Gangsta Granny ($6.00)
We can’t leave out Gangsta Granny after she won for us last time out. She only narrowly gripped on for the win, so the rise in distance is a slight concern.
However, she has good natural ability, and the mile could see her settle slightly better, which could be the winning on the race.
(6) Oh Diamond Lil ($16.00)
She needs a soft lead to show her best, and we can’t see that happening. It will be a high-pressure race, and she could fold again.
(7) Monte Supreme (Best Each Way – $9.00)
That was a booming effort for second behind Gangsta Granny, and she had no right to get that close from back in the field.
She has a big win on the horizon after scoring three wins already this prep, and it could come in The Invitation.
We’re loving the $9 odds, so include her in all bets.
(8) Dark Glitter ($61.00)
She showed good speed when running second earlier this prep, but her runs since have been only fair. She needs to improve to figure in the finish.
(9) Gerringong (Best Roughie – $13.00)
Connections are searching for a win, and we’re happy to give her one more chance. She has been facing tough fields all season, including running behind Linebacker last week.
She’s on the quick back-up, which could work in her favour as a double-figure hope.
(10) More Territories ($27.00)
She ran well enough to finish third at Rosehill. However, she would need to find a few lengths to be competitive in this company.
(11) Overriding ($51.00)
Struggling to show her best this campaign, and we can’t see that changing.
(12) Bauhinia ($34.00)
Showed something two back but she wasn’t able to back it up with much. Looking for something easier.
(13) Modella ($23.00)
Specked at odds after winning at Rosehill. That came in a much easier race, so we’re choosing to stick with the classier runners.
