Wagga racing tips

Race 1. (12:20) Romano's Hotel Riverina Cup Prelude BM74 (2000m)

#5 – First Day @ $2.30

First Day is already a two-time winner this preparation, including a winner three back at Wagga.

The four-year-old mare by Ribchester is a three-time winner overall, and she could have the class edge over most of this field.

Carrying 55kg only makes her harder to beat.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 2. (12:55) Smallmon Brothers Waste Maiden (1000m)

#7 – Performing Diva @ $3.80

Performing Diva ended her first preparation with a second placing at Goulburn, which is a good form guide for this race.

The three-year-old filly by Performer should have appreciated the spell, and it’s good to see some betting interest in her.

Barrier four should see her get every chance in the run.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 3. (13:35) Macarthur Real Estate Agency C1 (1800m)

#5 – Pride of Jezza @ $2.80

Seeking back-to-back wins is Pride of Jezza, who broke maidens with a 2.3-length victory last time out.

The three-year-old son of Pride of Dubai loves running at Wagga with five starts for a win and two placings, so there’s no reason why he can’t win again.

His turn-of-foot is good enough to put this field away, so put him on top.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 4. (14:10) Remax Elite BM82 (1400m)

#5 – Choice Witness @ $3.60

Seeking her third win this preparation is Choice Witness, who won at Wagga before trying her hand at Sandown when finishing seventh.

The four-year-old mare by Showtime was no match for them in town, but coming back to Wagga, where she won by 2.8 lengths, is ideal.

Take the odds as she should firm to favouritism.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 5. (14:50) Junee Prime Lamb Maiden (1200m)

#8 – Impending Imprint @ $3.10

Looking to win on debut is Impending Imprint, who comes off a trial win at Albury.

The three-year-old filly by Impending has been rock-solid in betting markets since they opened, which is a good sign.

She should get a nice run throughout and sprint late.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 6. (15:25) JRC Electrical Services BM58 (1000m)

#2 – Antisocial @ $2.10

Antisocial couldn’t make it three wins on the bounce last time out, but she looked good when winning at Swan Hill and Wagga prior.

The four-year-old mare by Pariah won by 2.5 lengths here two back, and we’re banking on a repeat of that effort.

Getting 3kg off her back is enough to take her close.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 7. (16:05) Riverina Motor Group BM50 (1300m)

#4 – Trouve @ $8.50

The three-year-old showed good form three back when scoring at Goulburn, and he hasn’t been too far away from the prize since.

He has yet to fire in two runs at Wagga, but he didn’t get much luck, and that could all change on Tuesday against a moderate field.

Take the $8.50 odds, which are worth including.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 8. (16:40) The Gardens Wagga BM58 (1600m)

#6 – Sundrop @ $5.50

Sundrop is gunning for consecutive wins after scoring at Narromine, and we’re happy to include her in our horse racing picks.

The four-year-old mare by Squamosa owns two wins and three placings from 10 starts, and getting an inside barrier is ideal.

She’s good enough to include in picks at the odds.

Stake: 1 Unit
