We have NBA picks and predictions for Thursday, October 23rd, which features the Cavaliers vs. Knicks, 76ers vs. Celtics, and Spurs vs. Mavericks.
Our picks include a best bet and NBA same game multi, and we’re looking forward to another big year of the National Basketball Association.
Cavaliers vs. Knicks Predictions
—
Best Bet
The Cavaliers could make an early statement on the road against a fellow Eastern Conference heavyweight.
It won’t be an easy game to win from the outset, but the Cavaliers have a quality team, and the Knicks often need a couple of weeks to find their best. The Cavaliers have Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley, which is a good one-two punch.
They play team ball better than most, and although the Knicks have Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns, the Cavs are the better bet in this situation.
—
Same Game Multi
Mitchell is a good contender for 25+ points in any game, and he should get every chance to score on the Knicks. He’s tough to contain inside the paint when he drives, and he’s also a good threat from behind the three-point line.
We expect KAT to have a rough start. Under 20.5 points pays $2.05, so the odds are generous, and he’s a player who might need a few games under his belt fitness-wise.
Under 229.5 is worth including in NBA multi picks. The final score could be around 114-110 to the Cavs.

76ers vs. Celtics Predictions
—
Best Bet
There isn’t much betting support for the Celtics with NBA futures, but we’re sticking with them despite Jayson Tatum missing in action.
The Celtics still have Jaylen Brown and Derrick White, so the scorers and ball handlers are there. That’s why we’re backing them to beat the visiting 76ers, who are never to be trusted on the road. Joel Embiid rarely stays healthy, and he will need to shake off the rust.
At TD Garden in front of a big crowd, the Celtics are the best bet at –2.5.
—
Same Game Multi
Scoring should come thick and fast in this game, and we expect Brown and Payton Pritchard to have big scoring efforts. Brown is now the leading scoring threat for the Celtics with Tatum out, and he should relish the occasion.
He’s a player who has been waiting to lead a team, and with the assistance of Pritchard, whose numbers should improve significantly, the Celtics are set for victory.
The final score could be around 118-112, and defence is likely to play second fiddle.
—
Spurs vs. Mavericks Predictions
—
Best Bet
The Mavericks parted with Luka Doncic, but by sheer luck, they drafted Cooper Flagg, who is our pick to win Rookie of the Year.
Flagg shouldn’t need too much time to show his best in the NBA. He has a bigger frame than most of the recent top draft picks, including Victor Wembanyama, who he’ll square up against on Thursday afternoon.
Anthony Davis headlines the Mavericks’ offence, and with the likes of Klay Thompson and P.J. Washington, Dallas is a sneaky chance of making a deep playoff run in 2025/26.
—
Same Game Multi
We’re hoping Flagg makes an immediate impression in the NBA, and the $1.63 to score 15+ points is worth including in NBA multi picks. Flagg could be a generational talent after a stellar college career, so expectations are high.
They’re also high for Wemby, but he could be on limited minutes. The Spurs know how important he is to their season, and he has been injury prone since entering the NBA. They will defend him well, so include under 24.5 points.
Under 225.5 points is a solid multi bet inclusion. Points typically flow when the Spurs and Mavericks meet, so it should be a high-scoring game.
