Panthers vs. Sharks Predictions

Best Bet

Sharks +8.5 @ $1.90

There has been little money come for the Sharks, but the +8.5 line is too good to pass up following a good Round 1 win over the Titans.

The level of opposition was poor, but winning 50-10 isn’t easy to do, and they look like every part of an early NRL Finals contender. They have quality players in key positions, and if Nicho Hynes runs the ball to the defensive line, they could worry the Panthers out of a win.

Penrith won its opener 26-0 against the Broncos, and its defence was excellent. That win is tough to overlook, but the Sharks are good enough to buck the trend and keep it close. They need to ignore their recent losing streak against the Panthers and play with confidence.

It should be enough to see them at least keep the score line to without 8.5 points.

Same Game Multi

Sharks +8.5, Sione Katoa Anytime Try Scorer, Thomas Jenkins Anytime Try Scorer, Over 42.5 @ $10.00

Boasting three tries from his last two games is Sione Katoa, who scored against the Titans last week. He is their leading try-scoring threat, and the $2.40 odds to score a try is too good to leave out of NRL same game multis.

Penrith has unearthed another quality player in Thomas Jenkins. The unassuming player has three tries from his last two games, including a double against the Broncos. $1.81 is a fair price with the latest NRL odds.

Bookies expect a low-scoring game, but there is more than enough offence with the Panthers and Sharks to include over 42.5 points in NRL multi bets.

Best Value Bet

Sharks H2H @ $3.40

The Panthers have won their last seven home games against the Sharks, but anything can happen in Round 2 of the NRL.

The Sharks know a win over Penrith would set them up for a big year, and it will be all hands on deck for the visitors at Carrington Park.

Despite most of the money coming for Penrith, take the Sharks to score an upset.
