Chiefs vs. Crusaders Predictions
—
Best Bet
It hasn’t been easy so far for the Chiefs, but they’re 2-0 after beating the Blues and Highlanders.
Having two wins over New Zealand teams bodes well, given New Zealand’s domination of Super Rugby Pacific, and with the Crusaders sitting at 0-2 after losses to the Highlanders and Brumbies, they are there for the taking.
We’re not sure what’s going wrong with the Crusaders, who have many All Blacks at their disposal, but we don’t want to bet on them. The Chiefs have battled hard for two wins, so they could perform much better against a team lacking confidence.
We predict a 10-point Chiefs win, so back them to cover the –7.5 spread.

Same Game Multi
Leroy Carter and Samisoni Taukei’aho are completely different players, but they have an excellent chance of scoring for the Chiefs on Saturday.
Carter is a speedy back who scored against the Highlanders last week, and he’s the $1.82 favourite to cross the line this week. We’re happy to include him in Super Rugby picks this week.
Taukei’aho is a forward with an incredible scoring strike rate. He powered his way to a double last week, so the $2.05 odds are generous. He has three tries already this year, so the hooker is only one try away from leading the competition.
It should be a free-flowing game, and the over 54.5 is worth including in rugby picks.

Best Value Bet
The Chiefs have a good chance of putting the Crusaders to the sword, and $2.50 is a fair price with rugby odds.
They have won two tight games, so they will want to put the foot on the gas and make a statement against New Zealand’s most successful Super Rugby team.
Given the form of the Crusaders and playing at home, the Chiefs could be in for a one-sided victory in the NZ derby.
