Brisbane vs. Melbourne Predictions

Best Bet
The best way to bounce back after drawing against the Kangaroos is by thumping Melbourne, and that’s likely the case on Sunday afternoon.
It has been an interesting year for the defending champions, who didn’t fire against Collingwood earlier this year, but the Lions bounced back with wins over St Kilda and Gold Coast. They were top-level wins, and they are good form guides against Melbourne.
The Demons scored just 56 points against Hawthorn last week, and putting points on the board against Brisbane could prove too difficult. Therefore, we’re confidently backing Brisbane –31.5, and they could win by a much bigger margin.

Same Game Multi
We’re putting our faith in Eric Hipwood, who is too short at $1.42 to score 2+ goals, so we’re backing him to score three. He scored three goals last week, taking his tally to 14 goals from his last five games.
Getting $2.35 for Hipwood to score 3+ goals is good shopping, and he could dominate the tired Melbourne defence to post a big total for Brisbane.
We also like Dayne Zorko 25+ disposals. He has totals of 34, 23 and 39 disposals from his last three games, and against a poor Melbourne team, he should have plenty of chances to send the ball forward.
Under 172.5 is included in our same game multi. We can’t see Melbourne scoring many points, and it could be held to around 50-60. That should see a final score of around 100-60, which is enough for the under to cash.

Best Value Bet
Backing Hipwood to score the first goal is always a good bet at the odds, and he could get things going early for Brisbane on Sunday.
It’s usually between Hipwood and Charlie Cameron for first goal scoring honours for Brisbane, but as we expect Hipwood to score 3+ goals, he’ll need to get going early, and he should get plenty of ball coming his way in the opening quarter.
