The Blues defeated two easy teams in the West Coast Eagles and North Melbourne Kangaroos, but both wins came by big margins. Scoring 153 points against North Melbourne bodes well, and although they’ll be met with more resistance against Geelong, they could keep it close.
Geelong comes off three consecutive wins over Melbourne, Adelaide, and Hawthorn, with the latter two being quality wins. However, Carlton won 138-75 last year, and it’s usually a close game between them. Therefore, the +11.5 line for Carlton is worth taking. It’s good enough to make a game of it, in what could be a season-defining game.
