Beterbiev vs Bivol Tips
It was a controversial win for Artur Beterbiev in the first fight last year, but we think Bivol makes a statement on Sunday.
He is the $2.12 underdog, and whilst we’re aware he didn’t land too many power shots in their first meeting, he was the busier fighter and we believe he should have had his hand raised at the end of the fight.
The Russian is one of the more professional fighters on the circuit and we think he will bounce back from a loss in fine style. Beterbiev complained of an injury last year, which affected his performance, but we don’t think Dmitri Bivol would offer the same excuses.
The title fight is likely to go the distance, so the $1.52 for that option is worth including in boxing multis, and we’re also backing Bivol to turn the tables and emerge victorious.
Bet: Dmitri Bivol @ $2.12
Dubois vs Parker Tips
The heavyweights do battle in what should be an epic fight, and we’re locking in an upset result.
Parker shouldn’t be underrated. He has fought most of the best heavyweights in the division and he has had a second coming. His recent form is excellent, including wins over Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang.
The 33-year-old former champion is enjoying success in the peak of his career, and although Dubois comes off a win over Anthony Joshua in the fifth round, we think his power will be negated by a much better defensive boxer.
Our critique of Parker in the past has been his lack of offence, but he has picked it up and the $3.15 odds are too good to overlook. He’s the best underdog pick of the card, and we would love to see the Kiwi back on the global stage.
Bet: Joseph Parker @ $3.15
Stevenson vs Padley Tips
Shakur Stevenson might be a controversial fighter at times, but he’s supremely talented, hence the $1.02 odds for the American.
He is a much better fighter than Padley, who is also unbeaten with a 15-0 record, but Stevenson has beaten the likes of Artem Harutyunyan and Edwin De Los Santos, which are much better opponents than what Padley has faced.
The British fighter is a $16 chance with bookmakers and we have no interest in those odds. We are more interested in Stevenson winning by knockout, which pays $1.44, and is worth including in multis.
Bet: Shakur Stevenson by KO @ $1.44
Ortiz vs Madrimov Tips
The market is closer than we expected for Ortiz vs Madrimov, so we’re snapping up the value odds for Ortiz in the WBC Interim Welterweight title fight.
The 26-year-old American is 22-0, with 21 wins coming by KO, and he comes off his only non-knockout win against Serhii Bohachuk in August. That was a professional win for the interim title, and he’s good enough to defend it for the first time.
Madrimov is 10-1-1 and he is being respected with boxing odds because of his close loss to Terence Crawford. He wasn’t far off beating the 41-0 fighter, so bookmakers look at that performance and give him plenty of respect at $2.05.
We respect Madrimov, but Ortiz is our pick. He has more power in his hands, and he could outwork Madrimov in the early and late rounds.
Bet: Vergil Ortiz @ $1.88
