Valspar Championship Tips & Predictions

Best Bet

Justin Thomas @ $21.00

Justin Thomas is getting close to posting another PGA Tour win after finishing T8 at The Players last week, and that’s the best form guide for the Valspar Championship.

The American is fighting hard to get back into the winners’ enclosure, and if he keeps playing at his current level, it will come.

Without the likes of Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy in the field, Thomas is one of the top-ranked players, hence the $21 odds. It’s a fair price for someone who should play well, and he only needs to play well in Round 1 to figure in the finish.

Next Best

Jordan Spieth @ $26.00

We’re not thrilled with the odds for Jordan Spieth at $26, especially compared to the $71 he was paying last week. However, he’s a player we’re happy to follow for the next few months.

A former top player in the world, Spieth hasn’t quite lived up to expectations over the last few years, but he is steadily working his way back to form.

There has been plenty of money for Spieth to win, which is a good sign, and we don’t want to drop him from our golf picks this week. He gets a few more chances to finish in the top 5, so include him until he plays too poorly to recommend.

Best Value Bet

Corey Conners @ $31.00

Our golf predictions have Corey Conners playing well, and he has been a reliable golfer to follow over the last few years.

The Canadian is a proven winner on the PGA Tour, and he often plays his best golf in tournaments, and although the Valspar Championship isn’t a huge tournament, it’s right up Conners’ alley.

The 34-year-old has two PGA Tour wins on his record, both coming at the Valero Texas Open, but he also has numerous top 10 finishes at the majors, and we see him winning an event this year. It could come at the Valspar Championship this week.

Best Roughie

Max Homa @ $61.00

Max Homa is in the similar boat to Jordan Spieth. He was riding high for a few years, but working his way back to the top has been tough.

He played well last week at The Players, posting a T35 finish, and something close to that could be enough to see him score an upset win at Copperhead.

Homa is a crowd favourite, which adds to his appeal, and at $61 odds, he’s going in our Valspar Championship picks.

Top 10

Xander Schauffele @ $2.60

Xander Schauffele is the $12 favourite to win, and he’s a good chance of posting a top 10 finish.

We would rather take $2.60 for a top 10 finish than $12 for the win, and he only needs to play somewhere close to his best to be on the first page of the leaderboard.

We recommend including him in golf picks this week.
