Race 1. (13:30) Tab We’re On Maiden (1400m)
#1 – National Goal @ $3.20
National Goal ran second at Lismore last time out and he’s good enough to go one better on Monday.
The son of National Defense was a short margin behind the winner and he doesn’t need to improve on that run to beat this field.
We expect his odds to shorten to around $2.70 at start time.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 2. (14:05) Stronger First Foals Maiden (1100m)
#1 – Beans Means @ $5.00
Beans Means is knocking on the door after posting four consecutive placings, and he owns seven placings from 10 starts overall.
Winning races has alluded the son of Spill the Beans, but he’s too quick not to score this preparation, so we’re sticking with him.
Punters get each-way odds to snap up, so take the value.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 3. (14:40) Officating at Aquis BM55 (1100m)
#11 – Hearts are Racing @ $6.00
Tony Gollan lines up Hearts are Racing, who owns a win and three placings, and she is a good bet fresh up.
The four-year-old mare by Hellbent won at Toowoomba last preparation before placing at Sunshine Coast, which is a good form guide.
She kicks off with a trial win and she looks ready to produce the goods.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 4. (15:15) Anzac Day Luncheon on Sale BM55 (1100m)
#1 – Throwin Shade @ $8.50
Throwin Shade was too quick for them fresh up at Gold Coast and he didn’t lose any admirers when running fifth last start.
The four-year-old son of Puissance de Lune doesn’t deserve to be at such high odds, so we’re happy to take the value available with bookies.
2kg comes off his back and he should be in the race for a long way.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 5. (15:50) Tab We’re On BM62 (1100m)
#10 – Bengal Diamond @ $3.20
Boasting two wins from seven starts is Bengal Diamond, who ran better than the form suggests last time out.
The three-year-old filly by Flying Artie was only 1.8 lengths behind the winner as a $4 chance, and we’re not shocked to see betting support again.
She has good upside and a great chance of winning.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Race 6. (16.30) Anzac Day Races Book Now BM60 (1400m)
#2 – Speed Map @ $4.80
Money has come for Speed Map, who has drawn very wide, but he should go close with some luck in running.
The six-year-old owns four wins and 13 placings from 37 starts, including a win and multiple placings at Beaudesert.
Punters get each-way odds and he’s worth including in horse racing picks.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 7. (17:10) Beaudesertraceclub Handicap (1400m)
#10 – Hongkong Harmony @ $31.00
Hongkong Harmony isn’t the most consistent type and he’s a one-time winner from 30 starts, but that win came only three starts ago.
The eight-year-old won at Taree by a nose, and although he ran poorly at Ipswich last start, that run was too bad to be true.
It’s a risky bet, but at the odds, we’re putting a small bet on him.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 8. (17:50) Jonker First Yearlings C4 (1650m)
#5 – Exposition @ $3.20
Allan Chau lines up Exposition, who is running well with two wins and two placings from his last five starts.
The four-year-old son of Exceed and Excel has yet to race at Beaudesert, but it’s a track that should suit his racing pattern.
$3.20 is a fair price from bookmakers for the favourite.
