The Chairman’s Sprint Prize Form Guide & Tips
(1) Ka Ying Rising (Best Bet – $1.20)
The best sprinter in the world and he’s likely come for The Everest. He keeps winning races, and although $1.20 is skinny, he’ll be running through a lot of multis this weekend.
Upsets can happen in horse racing, but he has looked bullet proof so far.
(2) Satono Reve (Best Each Way – $9.00)
Japanese runners are built tough, so we’re not ruling out his chances of beating Ka Ying Rising.
He scored a good win at Chukyo last time out at Group 1 level, and with eight wins from 12 starts, he’s worthy of inclusion at the odds.
(3) Lucky Sweynesse (Best Roughie – $21.00)
The former sprinting champion of Hong Kong, and although he has been dethroned, he got back to winning form last time out.
Boasting 16 wins from 24 starts, the six-year-old is a prolific winner, and his top form is good enough to win this race. $21 is a very good price.
(4) Lugal ($41.00)
His last three starts have been uninspiring, and we can’t see him turning his form around in time to win the Chairman’s Sprint Prize.
(5) Victor the Winner ($126.00)
Triple figure odds for the David Eustace-trained runner, who struggled last prep. Winning this race fresh up seems unattainable.
(6) Helios Express ($17.00)
Consistency is king with Helios Express, who enjoys placing behind Ka Ying Rising. Can he turn the tables? Unlikely, but he’s an excellent trifecta and first four chance.
(7) Danon McKinley ($26.00)
Another Japanese runner and there has been specking for him. Fourth in the Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan last start, which is a good form guide.
An interesting runner who could finish in the top four, so keep him safe at odds.
(8) Invincible Sage ($101.00)
His form this preparation is well below his best, hence the massive odds.
(9) Lucky with You ($21.00)
Solid recent form, including two wins and a placing behind Ka Ying Rising. He needs to lift on that effort, and there is more depth to this field.
(10) Beauty Waves ($51.00)
Better for his fresh-up third placing, but he’s another runner that needs to rise to another level just to have a chance.
(11) Magic Control ($126.00)
A winner three back, but at much lower levels. Well-held since, and we can’t see his form turning around.
(12) Copartner Prance ($101.00)
He did most of his winning last season and against easier opposition. His form has since tapered off, so we can’t include him.
(13) A Shin Fencer ($21.00)
Another Japanese runner that hasn’t been missed in the betting. Fifth behind Satono Reve, and we’re happy to leave him out based on that effort.
