Pakenham racing tips

Race 1. (13:00) No Fuss Event Hire Maiden (1000m)

#5 – Three Point Turn @ $1.95

Three Point Turn is close to scoring a win after finishing second last time out at Pakenham, and he shouldn’t be worried by the synthetic track.

The three-year-old son of Star Turn didn’t get all favours last start, so this race should be right up his alley.

We’re happy to include the short odds in multis.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 2. (13:30) Grand Ridge Arenas Maiden (1200m)

#6 – Celestial Ruler @ $2.50

Celestial Ruler is on debut for Team Hayes after looking good at the jumpouts, and she only needs to bring that form to race day.

The three-year-old filly by Rulership won a jumpout at Pakenham, and getting the inside draw only helps her chances.

Take the $2.50 as a fair price from bookies.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 3. (14:00) Frankston Sand Soil & Mix Maiden (1400m)

#4 – Jagerschnitzel @ $12.00

Value odds are with Jagerschnitzel, who ran second fresh up at Wodonga before placing at Sale last time out.

The three-year-old gelding by Zousain showed good early speed last start before tiring late, but this track can have a leaders’ bias.

He’s good enough to take down the odds-on favourite.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 4. (14:30) Designer Coolrooms Maiden (1600m)

#6 – Blackfish @ $2.70

Looking to cap off consistent form is Blackfish, who ran three consecutive placings before finishing seventh at Ballarat last start.

The three-year-old filly by Zousain can bounce back from that performance, and it’s good to see solid betting support.

Take the current odds before they firm late.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 5. (15:00) Photo Finish Refund BM64 (1600m)

#6 – Our Sassy Lady @ $3.30

It’s now or never for Our Sassy Lady, who didn’t fire at Warrnambool last start, but she’s much better than that.

The four-year-old daughter of Ocean Park runs some of her best races second-up, and getting the inside draw adds to her appeal.

Her odds have drifted, but she is the one to beat.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 6. (15:30) Browns Sawdust & Shavings BM64 (2200m)

#5 – Look Sharpish @ $12.00

Value odds are with Look Sharpish, who ran much better when third at Wangaratta last start, which is a good form guide.

The eight-year-old mare has plenty of experience to call on, and she runs her best races over the distance with three starts for a win and a placing.

$12 is a good price from bookmakers, so include her on an each-way basis.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (16:00) Nobody Does It Easier BM64 (1100m)

#1 – Appointed @ $2.70

Appointed is already a two-time winner this preparation, including two starts back at Caulfield before finishing fourth last start.

The three-year-old gelding by Super Seth owns two wins and three placings from seven starts, and he’s good enough to carry the big weight to victory.

His odds are shortening, so take the current price.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 8. (16:30) Waterline Riding Academy BM64 (1400m)

#3 – Marlion’s Dream @ $4.40

Marlion’s Dream comes off an overdue win at Werribee, and he’s good enough to keep winning.

The seven-year-old son of Skilled is a five-time winner overall, with two of those wins coming over the distance.

It’s an open field and he could take advantage.

Stake: 1 Unit
