Sandown racing tips
Saluted is unbeaten after two wins at Pakenham and The Valley, which is good form for this race.
The speedy two-year-old filly won by 2.5 lengths against a small field last time out and getting barrier two should give her every chance in the run.
$3.10 is a fair price from bookmakers, so put her on top.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Gunning for consecutive wins this preparation is Losesomewinmore, who was too good for them at Flemington.
The Jolly-trained gelding pulled out all the stops close to the line, and that’s a win of a runner going places, especially with four wins from eight starts overall.
He’s worth including in picks despite drawing wide.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Sephia runs at value each-way odds after winning at Warrnambool, and that’s a good form guide for this race.
The three-year-old filly by The Autumn Sun won by a length over Vianarra, which is a tidy form line, and she could rise to another level.
Take the value odds on an each-way basis.
Stake: 1 Unit
Muirfield is still in his first preparation, but he won well at Geelong three back before finishing third at Caulfield last time out.
He should only be stronger for that effort, and the three-year-old son of Proisir could settle closer to the pace this time around.
Getting in with 54kg is ideal, and the odds are generous.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Punters are getting a touch impatient with Changing Colours, but we’re happy to give her another chance.
She looks to cap off three consecutive placings with a win, and she went down narrowly at Caulfield last time out in a tough race.
55.5kg on her back could be enough to turn the tables in her favour.
Stake: 2 Units
Saban is a weighting special with only 50kg on his back, and although he meets a tough field, he should be hard to beat.
The four-year-old son of Shamus Award is getting close to a win after finishing second at Caulfield, and he was only a nose behind them.
The $4 odds are generous considering the weights.
Stake: 2 Units
There is good ability with Otago, who owns two wins and a placing from five starts, and he found the line nicely at Flemington last start.
That came behind the talented King Zephyr, so the form checks out, and he gets all favours off the inside draw with only 55kg on his back.
We’re happy to include him in multis at the odds.
Stake: 3 Units
Winning form is with Elouyou, who won at The Valley twice to prepare for this run, and he’s an excellent light weight chance at 53kg.
The five-year-old owns five wins and six placings from 12 starts, so he rarely runs a bad race, and there was a touch of class about his most recent win.
It’s a hot field but stick with the form runner.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Mollynickers showed good form early on, and although she’s not as good now, she comes off a second placing at Caulfield.
That should give her confidence to kick on with it, and running at Sandown for the first time should help her. It’s a long straight, which gives her time to warm up.
With 3kg off her back, punters should expect a nice run.
Stake: 1 Unit
