Sapphire Coast racing tips
—
Race 1. (13:00) Wes Fleet Painting BM66 (1007m)
#2 – Cholante @ $2.80
Cholante has been waiting for something easier after struggling recently, but her recent trial performances are a good sign.
The five-year-old owns two wins from 12 starts, and the change in stables from the Freedmans could result in instant success.
She should enjoy running at this level, so include her to win.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 2. (13:35) McKill Tree Service Maiden (1007m)
#5 – Alottosay @ $6.00
Alottosay is a two-time placegetter from as many starts, and the three-year-old filly is good enough to win this race.
The daughter of Press Statement placed at Goulburn and Nowra, and there is nothing wrong with that form for racing at Sapphire Coast.
Punters get better odds than expected.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 3. (14:10) Bristol Paints C2 (1007m)
#3 – Rippana @ $2.80
Rippana is gunning for three consecutive wins after scoring at Wagga, and she only needs some luck from the draw to figure in the finish.
The five-year-old is unbeaten at the distance, and her only failure came over 1080m on debut at Canberra.
We expect money to come for her late in the betting.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 4. (14:45) Buildcert BM58 (1209m)
#2 – Snowy @ $1.85
Snowy is unbeaten after scoring at Sapphire Coast and Gundagai last preparation, which is excellent form for this race.
The daughter of Hellbent won by 2.5 lengths on this track and having experience winning here adds to her appeal.
2kg comes off her back and include the short odds in multis.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 5. (15:25) Hume Doors & Timber C1 (1610m)
#6 – Sacred Mistress @ $3.10
Sacred Mistress took eight starts to break maidens, but she is now shooting for four on the bounce after winning at Narrendera last start.
The five-year-old mare won by six lengths, and although it wasn’t an overly strong field, she carried 68kg in the process.
That form bodes well, so she goes clearly on top.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 6. (16:05) Clark Equipment BM58 (1610m)
#8 – Lysander @ $5.00
Lysander won well at Orange two starts back before running well at Moruya for second, and those runs shape up nicely for Friday’s run.
The five-year-old son of Pierro drops to 55.5kg for this run, and we’re not surprised by the solid each-way odds from bookmakers.
He’s a winning threat, so include him in picks.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 7. (16:40) Sapphire Hardware Mitre 10 BM66 (1410m)
#12 – Win the Day @ $3.10
Gunning for consecutive wins is Win the Day, who was too good for a small field at Canberra.
The four-year-old mare by Hellbent is a two-time winner from six starts and dropping to 54.5kg is enough to see her win.
The $3.10 odds are likely to firm on race day.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 8. (17:20) Hyne Timber Maiden (1209m)
#2 – Conjoin @ $4.80
Conjoin looks to cap off three consecutive placings with a win, and he owns a placing at Sapphire Coast.
The three-year-old son of Unite and Conquer is bred for speed and this race is there for the taking, so he’s worth including in picks.
Take the $4.80 as it’s a fair price from bookies.
Stake: 1 Unit
