Warwick Farm racing tips

Race 1. (13:35) Hawaii Five Oh Maiden (1400m)

#8 – Tuscany @ $3.80

Tuscany wasn’t far away from exiting maidens last start when placing at Hawkesbury, and his fitness levels are higher now.

The three-year-old colt by Zoustar had been running in tougher races in the city, so this should be right up his alley.

Expect Tim Clark to settle handy and give a good kick.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 2. (14:10) Precise Air BM64 (1200m)

#1 – Regulated Affair @ $4.50

Having his fifth run of his first campaign is Regulated Affair, who won at Warwick Farm on debut before facing harder opposition.

The Chris Waller-trained colt ran second at Rosehill behind a good type, and getting 3kg off his back could be enough to take him close.

Getting $4.50 is a generous price of his potential.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 3. (14:45) Asahi Super Dry BM72 (1600m)

#3 – Island Dream @ $2.10

Waller lines up Island Dream, who won two back at Canterbury before placing last time out at Randwick behind Glad You Think So.

The four-year-old mare by Divine Prophet owns three wins from seven starts, and getting James McDonald riding off the inside draw is ideal.

Take the $2.10 before he firms into an odds-on quote.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 4. (15:20) Schweppes BM72 (1400m)

#4 – Tuileries @ $3.70

Tuileries has been a touch disappointing this preparation, but we’re giving her another chance at this level.

The four-year-old mare by So You Think had big spring ambitions, but the wet conditions haven’t done her chances any good.

A firmer surface could see her best form return.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 5. (15:55) Captivant Kia Ora BM72 (1400m)

#5 – Starman @ $2.70

This race should set up perfectly for Starman, who has been facing tough fields in town this preparation.

The seven-year-old son of Zoustar is only a three-time winner, but he ran second at Randwick two back, which is an excellent form guide.

It’s another good ride for McDonald, who could have a big day.

Stake: 3 Units

Race 6. (16:30) Ranvet BM72 (2200m)

#10 – Sting to the Tail @ $4.40

Waller looks to strike again with Sting to the Tail, who comes off a second placing at Randwick behind Dr Evil.

It was a busy finish last week, and being on the quick back-up should only help her chances of scoring an overdue win.

55kg on her back is ideal, so take the each-way odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (17:05) Tab BM72 (1000m)

#7 – Pallaton @ $2.60

Pallaton was favoured to beat the likes of Skyhook last start when finishing third, but this is a massive drop in class.

The three-year-old colt ran third behind Grand Prairie, who won last Saturday, so we thought his odds would have been around $1.80.

Take the odds before money comes for him on race day.

Stake: 4.5 Units
