Wyong racing tips

Race 1. (12:05) Ezy Projects Maiden (1100m)

#2 – Swexan @ $9.00

Swexan is on debut for Ciaron Maher, and the three-year-old gelding could make a winning start.

He showed good speed when placing in a trial at Kembla Grange before finishing fourth in a trial at Warwick Farm in heavy conditions.

It’s an even field and he could take advantage.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 2. (12:40) Central Coast Wreckers Maiden (1200m)

#5 – Cuesta @ $3.20

Boasting two placings from three starts is Cuesta, who placed in New Zealand before coming to Australia and placing at Kembla Grange.

The Bjorn Baker-trained mare looks to have plenty of upside, especially compared to most runners in this field.

We expect money to come thick and fast for her.

Stake: 3 Units

Race 3. (13:15) Colorado Homes Midway C1 (1000m)

#1 – Harlex @ $2.70

Hoping to bounce back to winning form is Herlex, who won at Newcastle fresh up before running fourth at Scone last time out.

The three-year-old son of Exceedance was only 1.2 lengths behind the winner, which appears to be a handy type.

Barrier three is ideal, so he’s an excellent pick.

Stake: 3 Units

Race 4. (13:50) The Entrance Leagues C1 (1600m)

#5 – Twilight Elegance

Gunning for back-to-back wins is Twilight Elegance, who won at Kembla Grange by a narrow margin.

She might have paid $16 on that occasion, but she is at shorter odds to win again, and she’s worth including in picks.

Barrier four is ideal and Maher will have her primed and ready to fire.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 5. (14:25) Seascape Dental Provincial Maiden (1600m)

#12 – Reverberates

Form is with Reverberates, who ran second at Hawkesbury last start behind Diamond Show

The three-year-old filly by Microphone is better for three runs this preparation and dropping to 55.5kg makes her tough to beat.

Take the each-way odds available.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 6. (15:05) Australian Oztag BM64 (2000m)

#2 – Whetu

Another runner coming off a good placing is Whetu, who ran second at Goulburn in heavy conditions.

The seven-year-old son of Dundeel had been racing at Warwick Farm and Randwick, so he has experience against tough fields.

2kg comes off his back to help with the weight.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 7. (15:45) Scape Properties BM64 (1200m)

#5 – Swift Gun @ $15.00

Swift Gun looked good during his first prep when posting a win at Wyong and two second placings.

The Brad Widdup-trained colt has been primed with trial placings at Wyong and Warwick Farm, so he looks ready to show his best.

Barrier four is ideal, so he should get all favours in the run.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 8. (16:25) Teamwork Trophies BM64 (1200m)

#4 – Magical Moments

Punters should get a good sight with Magical Memories, who won at Newcastle fresh up last campaign before placing at Wyong.

Having track experience is ideal, and she comes from the powerful Baker stable, which could have a big day on Sunday.

We’re happy to include her in our picks at the odds.

Stake: 2 Units
