NRL Round 26 Tips
—
Thursday 29/8/24
7:50pm North Queensland Cowboys vs Melbourne Storm @ Country Bank Stadium
The Storm are the best team in the NRL, but they don’t need to win this game, hence the odds.
It’s a more much important game for the Cowboys, who look to make a late-season push for a better position in the playoffs.
We’re happy to back the home side to score a win, and the –4.5 line is fair enough from bookmakers against a Storm side resting players.
Betting tip: Cowboys –4.5 @ $1.90

Friday 30/8/24
6:00pm Canterbury Bulldogs vs Manly Sea Eagles @ Accor Stadium
The Bulldogs and Sea Eagles are marching towards the NRL playoffs, and we have been more impressed by the Bulldogs.
They look like a genuine playoff threat, and no team wants to face them in the early stages, including the Sea Eagles this week.
There isn’t much between them in betting markets, but take the Bulldogs at –3.5.
Betting tip: Bulldogs –3.5 @ $1.90

8:00pm Penrith Panthers vs South Sydney Rabbitohs @ BlueBet Stadium
The Panthers aren’t at their best in 2024, especially after losing to the Raiders last week, but a big bounce back is expected.
They face one of the worst teams in the NFL in South Sydney, hence why the line is –16.5 in favour of the Panthers.
Penrith needs a boost, and it should come this week.
Betting tip: Panthers –16.5 @ $1.90

Saturday 31/8/24
3:00pm Parramatta Eels vs St George Dragons @ CommBank Stadium
The Dragons are looking to keep their spot in the top eight, and it should come easily against the struggling Eels.
There is a case that the Eels will want to get off the bottom of the ladder, but given what’s on the line for the Dragons, they should be tough to beat.
Getting a –3.5 line for the visitors is too good to pass up.
Betting tip: Dragons –3.5 @ $1.90

5:30pm Dolphins vs Brisbane Broncos @ Suncorp Stadium
The Dolphins have progressively become worse this year, and the Broncos are hoping to sneak into the top eight with a win.
It looked like an improbable task a few weeks ago, but momentum is with the Broncos, who are the –6.5 favourites to score.
We expect the better team to be far too good for the Dolphins.
Betting tip: Broncos –6.5 @ $1.90

7:35pm Cronulla Sharks vs New Zealand Warriors @ PointsBet Stadium
The Warriors haven’t looked good recently, and we can’t see them being competitive against the Sharks.
The Sharks have battled back to third on the premiership table, and they want momentum heading into the playoffs.
Covering a –12.5 line won’t be easy, but the Warriors are without Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, and that doesn’t help their chances.
Betting tip: Sharks –12.5 @ $1.90

Sunday 1/9/24
2:00pm Newcastle Knights vs Gold Coast Titans @ McDonald Jones Stadium
The playoffs aren’t likely for the Knights and Titans, so they’re playing for pride on Sunday afternoon.
The Knights are the slightly better team, which is why they’re favoured to win at $1.35 and –8.5 with spread markets.
Gold Coast is preparing for Mad Monday, and that could see the Knights produce a big win and keep their extremely slim playoff chances alive.
Betting tip: Knights –8.5 @ $1.90
Knights by 12
4:05pm Sydney Roosters vs Canberra Raiders @ Allianz Stadium
The Roosters have rocketed to second place on the NRL ladder, and they are living up to the preseason type.
They have been playing excellent rugby league, and although the Raiders come off a big win over the Panthers, they could struggle here.
We expect the Roosters to exert their class and put points on the board.
Betting tip: Roosters –14.5 @ $1.90
