Panthers vs. Sea Eagles Predictions
—
Best Bet
Panthers –5.5 @ $1.90
Are the Panthers back in action? We think so, and they should look to build on a big win over the Roosters last week.
The 40-12 win showcased what the Panthers can do when they play with patience, and it was good to see Nathan Cleary back to his best. He’s the best half in the game, and they need him to be firing on all cylinders.
However, without the speed and stepping skills of Jarome Luai, they have struggled on both sides of the ball. They needed time to gel as a different looking team, and they should fancy their chances of handing the Sea Eagles their fourth consecutive loss.
The Sea Eagles lost to the Storm, Sharks, and Dragons, so the opposition was tough, but beating the four-time champs doesn’t make life any easier.

Same Game Multi
Panthers –5.5, Paul Alamoti Anytime Try Scorer, Jason Saab Anytime Try Scorer, Over 46.5 @ $9.75
There should be plenty of tries scored on Saturday night, so we’re backing the Panthers –5.5 and over 46.5. They scored 54 points in their most recent meeting last year, and with the Panthers scoring 40 last week, that bodes well.
Putting in the hard yards for the Panthers is Paul Alamoti, who is their primary try-scoring threat on the wing. He bounced back to his best form last week with a double, and he should be confident of scoring against Manly, who allowed 48 points against the Storm earlier this year.
We have included Jason Saab to score the last few weeks, and he hasn’t let us down. He scored a try in each of his last three games, and we’ll take the generous $2.20 odds. That’s much better than we expected for a prolific try scorer.
Best Value Bet
Panthers 6-10 Winning Margin @ $5.50
It’s not easy to predict the winning margin within four points, but we’re snapping up the value with the Panthers 6-10.
With the current line at –5.5, we think the Panthers cover the spread but only by a few points. We expect them to win by 6, 8, or 10 points, so we might as well take the $5.50 odds as a bit of value with NRL betting markets.
