Everything comes down to the NRL Grand Final on Sunday, where the Roosters are favourites to beat the Knights. After two dramatic semi-finals, all eyes are on Accor Stadium in Sydney for the Grand Final, where Sam Walker and Daly Cherry-Evans look to lead the Roosters to victory against a tough Knights team, led by Kayln Ponga. Bookies have the Roosters at $1.46, and they’ll be tough to stop.

We would have preferred a -5.5 line, but the Roosters should have too much scoring power and defence for the Knights.

The Roosters completely dominated the Dolphins last week, and the 36-20 scoreline was generous because the Dolphins scored a couple of late consolation tries. We were impressed with their defence, which has been excellent all year, and it was on display when these teams met in April at Allianz Stadium.

The Roosters won 38-24 after keeping the Knights scoreless after half time, and following a bruising encounter against the Panthers, the Knights could struggle to keep up with the high-flying Roosters, who have the likes of Mark Nawaqanitawase and Daniel Tupou as constant scoring threats. They also have a better halves pairing with Sam Walker and Daly Cherry-Evans, so it’s tough to find negatives for the Roosters.

Newcastle have done well to make the final after winning the wooden spoon last season. However, despite getting past the top two teams in the premiership (Warriors/Panthers), their winning run is likely to come to an end. The experience of playing finals footy helps the Roosters, and they should win comfortably.

Back the Roosters to cover the -6.5 spread. We can’t see the Knights scoring more than 12 points, and the Roosters are a great chance of scoring 20+.
