Sea Eagles vs. Sharks Predictions
—
Best Bet
The Sea Eagles have a 24-15 advantage over the Sharks, and although the last two meetings have done the way of the Sharks, playing at home should see the Sea Eagles prevail.
They come off a stellar 26-10 win over the Panthers, which has been franked with the Panthers beating Brisbane last week. The Sharks defeated the Eels, but they didn’t look all that impressive, and we worry about their halves combination.
We’re not worried by the combination of Daly Cherry-Evans and Luke Brooks, who could run rings around the Sharks defence. Therefore, we expect the Sea Eagles to win by at least a converted try, so take the –2.5 line.
Same Game Multi
Our Sea Eagles vs. Sharks same game multi picks include Sea Eagles head-to-head and over 48.5 points. There are many try scorers with these teams, so it should be a high scoring game, as it was last year when the Sharks won 40-20.
Headlining try scoring options are Jason Saab for the Sea Eagles and Sam Stonestreet for the Sharks. Saab, a noted speedster, has a try in each of his last three games. He is always good for a try, hence the $1.79 odds.
Stonestreet is also good for a try, having scored three doubles in his last four games. He likes to score twice, but the $1.83 odds to score once are too good to turn down. Saab is $4 and Stonestreet is $4.30 to score a double, which aren’t bad plays to include in picks.
Best Value Bet
Cherry-Evans is usually the one setting up the tries, but he’s a try scorer this year, and he could snipe one through the middle of the field.
He is one of the most experienced NRL players, and with experience comes class. He might be departing the Sea Eagles at the end of the year, but he’s still playing high-level rugby league, and he could cross for a try.
The speed is still there, and $4.10 is a fair price from bookmakers.
