Sharks vs. Dragons Predictions
—
Best Bet
The Sharks showed nothing against the New Zealand Warriors last week, but they don’t lose anyone through State of Origin, which puts them in good stead against the Dragons, who are without Valentine Holmes.
After being embarrassed two weeks in a row with heavy losses to the Roosters and Warriors, where they were outscored 82-26, the Sharks need to earn back respect. They have fallen outside of the top four, but with the Dragons coming off a 56-6 loss to the Dolphins, they’re not playing well either.
Without Holmes on the field, the Sharks should dominate and cover the –10.5 spread comfortably.

Same Game Multi
We’re backing Ronaldo Mulitalo and Sione Katoa to score for the Sharks. They could tear through the Dragons defence with ease, and they’re worth including in NRL same game multis.
Mulitalo had a slow start to the year, but he bounced back with four tries from his last three games. He has been the shining light for a suddenly struggling team, and he should lead by example against the Dragons.
Katoa has three tries from his last five games, and he’s one of the more powerful runners close to the line. The Dragons defence folded quicker than clean laundry last week, and we predict something similar on Thursday.
We think a lot of tries will be scored, mostly by the Sharks, we’re including over 47.5. They scored 48 points when meeting last year, where the Sharks won 38-10, and it could be a similar score this time around.

Best Value Bet
It’s about time Nicho Hynes took the ball to the line and showed more aggression. His stock has fallen over the last two years, but he’s still a quality player.
He’s lacking confidence, but against a poor Dragons defence, he could take advantage of the opposition knowing he’ll likely shovel the ball on to his outside backs.
The gaps will appear, and Hynes could score an overdue try at generous $4.50 odds.
