Storm vs. Broncos Predictions

Best Bet
Backing against the Storm in Melbourne isn’t always a recipe for success, but the Broncos could turn around their terrible record against Melbourne.
The Storm owns a 42-14-1 record against Brisbane, which is hard to fathom, but given the way Melbourne has played recently, we’re not confident it can produce the goods to put Brisbane away with ease.
Brisbane comes off a tidy victory over the Rabbitohs, and with the Storm only narrowly getting past the Eels, and losing Jahrome Hughes, we can’t back them with confidence. It should be a tight game from the outset, so getting a +6.5 line for the underdogs is too good to look past.

Backing Selwyn Cobbo and Xavier Coates doesn’t often go wrong for punters, and although Cobbo hasn’t been at his best in 2025, he got back to try scoring form against the Rabbitohs last week.
At his best, he’s one of the best players in the NRL. It’s all about attitude for Cobbo, but the $2.10 odds are worth including in picks. We also like Coates to score, who has four tries from his last three games. That’s enough to include the Storm winger in picks.
It should be a high-scoring game, so include over 46.5. They combined for 62 and 66 points in their last two meetings in 2024, which bodes well.

Reece Walsh is another good try scoring threat for Brisbane. He has two tries from his last three games, and his pace has been a reason why Brisbane has turned its year around.
He knows the importance of playing well on Thursday, and a win could see the Broncos close the gap on the top four teams.
Getting $2.80 for Walsh to score is a good price for the talented youngster.
