Warriors vs. Knights Predictions
—
Best Bet
Knights +7.5 @ $1.98
The Warriors are the better team having beaten the Broncos last week, however, there is a good reason why we’re backing the Knights.
New Zealand can struggle to cover spreads around the –7.5 mark, especially with this home game being played in Christchurch. They never play well outside of Auckland in New Zealand, and the Knights won the most recent meeting 14-8 last year.
The obvious concern with backing the Knights is their inept attack, which has resulted in just 18 points from their last three games. There is no direction in the halves, but having Jack Cogger back helps, and they’re good enough to defend well and hold out the Warriors attack, which isn’t always sparkling.
Getting +7.5 is a good line, and it could be decided in the final 10 minutes.

Same Game Multi
Knights +7.5, Bradman Best Anytime Try Scorer, Adam Pompey Anytime Try Scorer, Under 44.5 @ $24.25
The final score could be around 22-18, so we’re backing the Knights and under 44.5. Defence should be the telling story in this game, and we would be surprised if it was a try-fest in Christchurch.
Our best try scorer options are Bradman Best and Adam Pompey. Best hasn’t scored in his last three games, which goes for most of the Knights team. However, he’s the most dangerous runner on the field close to the line, and punters get a whopping $3.05 for him to score.
Pompey is the $1.80 favourite to score a try, and although he has only one from his last five games, he’s overdue a big performance. We’re happy to include him in picks at the odds.
Best Value Bet
Knights Halftime/Fulltime @ $4.10
As a lifelong Warriors tragic, it pays not to get too excited when they come off a win. After beating the Broncos in golden point last week, you’d think they would keep winning, but that’s not often the case with the Kiwi team.
The Knights need to improve to win the game, but there is a good chance of it happening. Their backs are against the wall, and we’re backing them to lead at halftime and fulltime. The $4.10 odds are juicy, and the Warriors are ripe for an upset.
