Olympic Men’s 400m Hurdle Tips & Predictions

Men’s 400m Hurdles Best Bet – Karsten Warholm

Just when you think Karsten Warholm can’t win, he usually pulls out the most incredible performance.

The 28-year-old is one of the best and most underrated athletes in the world, and he’s our top pick to win gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Norwegian won gold at the 2020 games, and for whatever reason, he’s not the favourite to win four years later.

We don’t think he has dropped off enough to be a $2.50 chance behind Rai Benjamin, who is the current $2.05 favourite with bookmakers.

Warholm also won gold at the 2023 World Championships, where he had the measure of Benjamin, so we thought the odds would be the other way around.

He’s built different, and we’re excited to see how he performs in Paris.

Bet: Karsten Warholm @ $2.50

Men’s 400m Hurdles Best Value – Alison dos Santos

If there is going to be an upset over the two favourites, Alison dos Santos is the man for the job.

The Brazilian won bronze at the 2020 Tokyo games, and he has taken a lot of improvement out of that performance.

He won gold at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene, so he has that performance to look back at and use as a guide.

He broke the Diamond League record for 400m Hurdles at the 2024 Oslo event, and that burst him back into the spotlight.

If dos Santos can achieve something similar, he has every chance of winning gold and upsetting Warholm and Benjamin in Paris.

Bet: Alison dos Santos @ $4.00

Olympic Women’s 400m Hurdles Tips & Predictions

Women’s 400m Hurdles Best Bet – Sydney McLaughlin

Sydney McLaughlin is one of the shortest-priced favourites to win an athletics event, but we’re happy to include her in multis.

The American hurdler is a $1.20 chance with bookmakers, which is too short to back outright, but she’s well worth including to boost multi bet returns.

She has been a level above the competition for many years, including winning gold at the 2020 Olympics in both the solo and relay race.

She won gold at the 2022 World Championships, so she’s in good form, and she ran her personal best time of 50.65 earlier this year in June at the World Championships, which was also a World Record.

We can’t bet against the American, who is a stellar athlete.

Bet: Sydney McLaughlin @ $1.20

Women’s 400m Hurdles Best Value – Femke Bol

Femke Bol is one of the most-liked athletes at the Olympics, and she has a chance to cause an upset at $4.33.

The Dutch athlete scored bronze at the 2020 Olympics, but she has matured since, and she won gold at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest.

She finished second behind McLaughlin at the 2022 World Championships, so there is no reason why she can’t bridge the gap between the favourite.

We expect Bol and McLaughlin to have the race between themselves, and getting $4.33 is a great saver bet for punters to snap up.

Bet: Femke Bol @ $4.33
