Olympic Men’s Basketball Tips & Predictions

Men’s Basketball Bet Without Favourite Best Bet – France

We expect the USA to win gold, so we love the betting without favourite options, and France headlines our picks.

France has a quality team, including the likes of Victor Wembanyama, who won Rookie of the Year in the NBA this season.

He’s joined by the likes of Nicolas Batum, defensive beast Rudy Gobert, and a host of quality NBA and Euroleague players.

We’re not surprised to see them at $2.87 with bookmakers, and we think they have every chance to win silver.

There is a chance they defeat Team USA with some luck, but the best betting option is backing them in this market.

Bet: France @ $2.87

Men’s Basketball Bet Without Favourite Best Value – Australia

Australia could be the surprise package at the 2024 Paris Olympics, and getting $17.00 for them to win without the favourite is good shopping.

They won the bronze medal in Tokyo, so they will derive plenty of confidence from that effort, and they can go one better.

An injury to Dante Exum hasn’t helped their chances, but Australia still has a quality team on paper, including Josh Giddey, Josh Green, Joe Ingles, Patty Mills, and Matthew Dellavedova.

Toughness it the strength of the Australians, who don’t have the stars the likes of USA, Canada, and France, but they’re built tough, and we’re happy to back them.

Getting $17.00 is a fair price in this Olympic betting market.

Bet: Australia @ $17.00

Men’s Basketball Tournament MVP – LeBron James

LeBron James has been playing excellent basketball in the practice games, and he’s the current favourite for tournament MVP.

He’s a $3.50 chance to win the honour, and he would be one of the oldest players to win Olympic Games MVP.

James, despite his age, continues to play well for the Los Angeles Lakers and Team USA, and he looks hungry for a gold medal.

He’s the elder statesman on the Team USA roster, and he could dominate the smaller defences at the Olympic Games.

Bet: LeBron James @ $3.50

Men’s Basketball Top Point Scorer – Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

Canada has a strong team in 2024, and they are favored to win the silver medal behind Team USA.

One of their best players in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who is one of the most gifted scorers in the NBA and at international level.

He showed that at the World Championships two years ago, and his scoring ability this season in the NBA was out of this world.

Gilgeous-Alexander might be a young player, but he should fill the stat sheet in Paris, and there will be a lot of Canadian support there.

He’s the $4.50 favourite to be the top point scorer, and we can’t bet on anyone else.

Bet: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander @ $4.50
