Australian Open Day 10 Tips & Predictions
—
Best Bet
American Learner Tien is on the hunt for another big scalp after making Daniil Medvedev look second rate last week.
He might not be the top-ranked American in the tournament, but Tien has momentum and confidence on his side, and he’s good enough to cause another upset over Alexander Zverev, who has a knack of losing at this stage of a grand slam.
Zverev won their most recent meeting on a clay surface, but their last hard-court match went Tien’s way, which should give punters confidence. We’re taking the $2.62 odds for the underdog, who could continue his unlikely run.

Next Best
Alex de Minaur is easy to cheer for, but the Australia has struggled mightily against the world’s best, and that’s mostly because he doesn’t have a dominant forehand.
He lacks the pace needed to beat the likes of Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, which is why he’ll likely never win a grand slam. We can’t see him winning a set against Alcaraz, who has incredible power and no weak parts of his game.
He has yet to drop a set during the 2026 Australian Open, and we don’t envision de Minaur breaking his serve. That will make it tough to win a set, let alone win the match outright. Therefore, take the Spaniard superstar to demoralise the Aussie.
The crowd won’t like it, but it’s the likely outcome, and $2.30 is a value price.

Fresh off beating Russian star Mirra Andreeva in straight sets, Ukrainian Elina Svitolina eyes another big scalp at the Australian Open.
She faces Coco Gauff, who is the $1.39 favourite, and although Gauff is playing well, we don’t believe she should be that short in betting markets. We priced her at $1.65, but Svitolina is an excellent bet at underdog odds.
She is the best-performing player in recent history post having a baby. Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka haven’t achieved anything close to what Svitolina has done after having a child, and it can’t go understated.
It would be a great story if she made the semifinals, and we’re taking the $2.82 odds for the upset.

Value Bet
We said early in the tournament that Iva Jovic is a player to watch over the next few years, and the youngster hasn’t let us down.
She is rolling through some quality players in Melbourne, including beating Yulia Putintseva without breaking a sweat in the Round of 16. It was complete dominance, and she can cause a huge upset against the world’s best.
Aryna Sabalenka hasn’t dropped a set, but she has looked anything but invincible. There have been some worrying signs, and Jovic, if she handles the pressure, could give her something to worry about.
$5.25 is a great price, and punters get $2.25 for Jovic to win a set, which is worth including in Australian Open multi bets.
