Collingwood vs. Sydney Predictions
—
Best Bet
Collingwood –5.5 @ $1.90
The Magpies are down on some troops, including Lachie Schultz, who scored twice against Carlton last week. However, they’re riding a three-game winning streak, and we don’t rate the Swans as much as we did last year.
Sydney is gunning for three consecutive wins, but those wins came over Fremantle 68-65 and the lowly North Melbourne 117-52. We expect it to beat the Kangaroos by a big margin, so it’s not the best form guide.
Collingwood will need to play close to its best to cover the –5.5 spread, but we can’t turn down the line. After posting wins over Port Adelaide, Western Bulldogs, and Carlton, we fancy them to take care of business at Adelaide Oval.

Collingwood H2H, Brody Mihocek 2+ Goals, Total Match Points Under 171.5 @ $4.75
We are backing Collingwood to win in a low scoring game, which is backed by historical data. They scored 175 points in their most recent meeting, but that followed totals of 171 and 125. Playing at a neutral ground could also result in fewer points scored.
Collingwood should emerge victorious at $1.71, and those AFL odds could firm throughout the week. It’s a revenge game after being beaten 89-86 in August last year, and we have our doubts about how strong the Swans are in 2025.
Losing Schultz doesn’t make life easy, but it gives Brody Mihocek a chance to redeem himself. He failed to kick a goal last week against Carlton, in what was a defensive battle. However, he scored eight goals in his previous four games.
Mihocek is a $1.82 chance to score 2+ goals, and he could be the defining player for Collingwood.
Best Value Bet
Nick Daicos 35+ Disposals @ $7.00
The odds for Nick Daicos to have 35+ disposals are too generous to turn down. The Collingwood vice-captain has had a 35+ disposal game already in 2025 when posting 39 against the Western Bulldogs, so he’s a good chance against Sydney.
Daicos has had totals of 21, 26, 39, and 37 so far, and although getting 35+ disposals isn’t easy, it should be a tight defensive game, which could call on Daicos to get in the thick of the action.
Considering he’s a $2.75 chance for 30+, we’re happy to take the risk at better odds.
