Gold Coast vs. Western Bulldogs Predictions
—
Best Bet
The Western Bulldogs are one of the best AFL teams to watch then they’re hot, and after winning three consecutive games, they’re firing on all cylinders.
There were some concerns after losing to Fremantle and Brisbane earlier this season, but wins over St Kilda, GWS, and Port Adelaide hold them in good stead, especially when beating the Power 131-41 in a one-sided contest last week.
The Bulldogs have won two of their last three against Gold Coast, and although the SUNS have shown signs of life with wins over Adelaide and Sydney, they lost to Richmond 80-69 and only scored 49 points against Brisbane last week.
Getting $1.90 for the Bulldogs is too juicy to pass up.
Same Game Multi
Our same game multi needs the Bulldogs scorers to measure up, but that hasn’t been a problem for Aaron Naughton and Marcus Bontempelli.
Naughton scored three goals last week, which was his third three-goal game from his last four. That’s an exceptional record, and the $1.73 odds for him to score 2+ goals is good shopping. We also like Bontempelli to score twice following a three-goal game.
He hasn’t always been the most consistent scorer for the Bulldogs, but punters get $2.25 odds, and they boost same game multi payouts.
Under 182.5 is also worth including. Gold Coast has struggled to score recently, posting totals of 49, 117, and 69 points from their last three games. The Bulldogs defence allowed only 41 points last week, so that adds weight to the under.
Best Value Bet
It took Naughton over a quarter to get on the board against Port Adelaide last week, but he’s typically a player who likes to hit the ground running.
The Western Bulldogs player should relish conditions in Darwin, and we don’t think he’ll be worried by the temperatures.
Correctly predicting the first goal scorer isn’t easy, but that’s why punters get big odds. $12 is a good price, so back Naughton to kick the first goal.
