Hawthorn vs. Collingwood Predictions
—
Best Bet
Hawthorn was well-beaten by Collingwood earlier this year and beaten by Adelaide last week, but we’re picking the Hawks to bounce back at value odds.
Bouncing back against Collingwood isn’t easy, but the Magpies were beaten by Brisbane last week in a disappointing effort, and they could be there to be beaten again. They didn’t score well with only 65 points, and there are plenty of points in Hawthorn.
They showed that in the first quarter against Adelaide, and although they let a big lead slip, having slipped to seventh on the AFL ladder means the Hawks are the more desperate team, so lock in the $2.34 odds. That’s a much better price than we expected, so punters get good value for the Hawks in Round 22.

Same Game Multi
Jack Gunston and Brody Mihocek are good goal scoring options this week, especially Gunston at $1.72 odds to score 2+ goals.
He kicked four goals against Adelaide last week, and although it came in a losing effort, he did enough to keep Hawthorn in the hunt. We expect him and Mihocek to play well on Thursday, and with Mihocek coming off a one-goal game, he’s due to bounce back.
It was the first time in six games where he didn’t score at least two goals, so the $1.95 odds can boost AFL same game multi odds. We’re also including over 161.5 points, with the last two meetings going over that total.

Best Value Bet
Punters get value odds for Hawthorn to lead by 13-24 points at halftime. They started well against Adelaide, and that could be the case again against Collingwood.
It’s not an easy bet to cash, but considering the AFL odds of $6.50, it’s worth the risk, and we’re happy to back it as a value bet.
