Melbourne vs. West Coast Predictions

Best Bet

Melbourne –41.5 @ $1.90

It will take a lot of mental fortitude for Melbourne to put last week’s disaster against St Kilda behind them, but playing West Coast comes with a fair amount of comfortability.

The Eagles have produced another miserable year with only one win, and we can’t see that changing on Saturday. We can’t see them getting close after losing 126-77 to Fremantle last week, and another one-sided loss is expected.

Melbourne blew a 46-point lead in the fourth quarter against St Kilda, which is hard to fathom. However, it’s capable of bouncing back in fine style and silencing the critics with an easy win. The final scoreline could be around 110-60, which is enough to cover the spread.

Same Game Multi

Melbourne -41.5, Kysaiah Pickett 3+ Goals, Bayley Fritsch 2+ Goals, Total Match Points Under 171.5 @ $10.50

They combined for 184 points in their first 2025 meeting, but we’re backing the under. West Coast is struggling to score points, having scored less than 62 points in four of their last five games, so include under 171.5 points in your AFL SGM picks.

Kysaiah Pickett and Bayley Fritsch are our best goal scoring options for Melbourne. Pickett had only one goal last week, but that followed a five-goal performance against Carlton. We expect him to bounce back with a big showing, so back him to kick 3+ goals.

Fritsch has eight goals from his last three games, so getting him at $1.55 to score 2+ goals is good value. Include him in AFL picks to boost payouts.

Best Value Bet

Max Gawn First Goal Scorer @ $34.00

Max Gawn got a lot of the blame for Melbourne’s loss last week, but he could show why he’s a leader in the AFL.

He is a $34 chance to score the game’s opening goal, which is a big price, and although he’s not on the front line of the offence, he should insert himself into the game early to prove a point.

The odds are too good to pass up.
