Tour de France Tips & Predictions

Best Bet

Jonas Vingegaard @ $3.70

The two-time champion couldn’t beat Pogacar last year, but he’s back and ready to turn the tables back in his favour.

His lead-up form to the 2025 Tour de France has been strong, and punters shouldn’t forget that he won the 2022 and 2023 titles, so he’s still one of the world’s best cyclists, and we expect Pogacar to start slowing down a touch.

The 28-year-old won the Volta ao Algarve earlier this year, and he also finished second in the Criterium du Dauphine, which is always a good form guide for the Tour de France. Beating Pogacar is his only worry, but getting $3.70 is a great price.

Top 3 Finish

Joao Almeida @ $3.50

Punters get value odds for Joao Almeida to finish on the podium, and that’s because realistically, there is only one spot left behind Pogacar and Vingegaard.

The Portuguese cyclist came to fame when leading for most of the 2020 Giro d’Italia, and that skyrocketed him onto the world stage. He doesn’t have too many big circuit wins, but he is never too far away.

He has three tour wins this year, including the Tour de Suisse. Those tour wins didn’t have all the world’s best riders, but having wins on the board should give him confidence.

Tour de France odds have Almeida at $3.50, with Remco Evenepoel at $2.02. However, Almeida is a better value option.

King of the Mountains

Tadej Pogacar @ $2.50

We wanted to back Vingegaard to win the King of the Mountains, but Pogacar is so strong up the mountains, we had to include him in our picks.

He is a former polka dot jersey winner, and there has been solid market confidence for him at $2.50. That’s a fair price for a rider who finished 2024 with 25 wins, and 24 of those came at the top level.

Whilst we’re not backing him to win outright because the odds are too short, he should dominate the King of the Mountains classification, and $2.50 is a price worth lapping up.

Team Classification

Team Visma-Lease a Bike @ $2.35

Team Visma-Lease a Bike has had an interesting history, but they are good enough to win the team classification at the 2025 Tour de France.

The team includes our top pick Jonas Vingegaard, and if he produces a good performance, that should be enough for his team to win, which also includes the likes of Dutch up and comers Loe Van Belle and Olav Kooij.

We like the way this team is progressing, and despite underdoing many name changes over the last few years, they can turn the tables on UAE Team Emirates – XRG, which is Pogacar’s team, which is the $2.10 favourite.

Young Rider Winner

Florian Lipowitz @ $3.25

Remco Evenepoel is the current $1.82 favourite to win the Young Rider title, and he’s a well-backed rider to finish on the podium. However, we’re backing Floran Lipowicz to come up big for team UCI World Team.

The 24-year-old German finished second in Paris-Nice, which saw him win the Young Rider Classification earlier this year, and he finished third overall in the Criterium du Dauphine. That is an excellent form guide, and getting $3.25 is a much better bet than taking Evenepoel to win.
