Ascot horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (15:29) Tabtouch Have You Got the Touch (1400m)
#4 – Stormchaser @ $2.80
Stormchaser won well at Bunbury fresh up before placing at Ascot behind Investmentstrategy.
The three-year-old son of Impending has been all around the mark throughout his career, including two wins and two placings.
We’re not surprised by the short odds.
Race 2. (16:06) Bisley Workwear 1MW (1500m)
#2 – San Fabrizio @ $4.40
San Fabrizio is better for two runs back from a spell, including a placing at Ascot last time out.
The seven-year-old son of Siyouni is only a two-time winner from 20 starts, but this isn’t an overly hot field.
Having Damien Oliver in the saddle helps.
Race 3. (16:48) Lexus of Perth BM72 (1600m)
#2 – Billy Ray @ $3.10
Billy Ray is never too far away from the prize, including six wins and 10 placings from 31 starts.
The six-year-old gelding by Sebring is a two-time winner at Ascot, and also two wins over the distance.
We expect his odds to firm on race day.
Race 4. (17:28) Starstruck Classic (1600m)
#7 – Super Smirk @ $2.40
Super Smirk owns four wins and four placings from eight starts, so the consistent type deserves backing.
The three-year-old filly by Super One ran only a half-length behind Zipaway last start, which ran at Group 1 level last start.
Getting in with 54kg adds to her chances.
Race 5. (18:04) Amelia Park 1MW (1800m)
#6 – Roch Legacy @ $7
Roch Legacy isn’t the most consistent type going around, but he’s good enough to beat this field.
The six-year-old runs some of his best races at Ascot, and he just needs a touch of luck from the wide barrier.
Take the each-way value odds.
Race 6. (18:39) Schweppes BM66 (1400m)
#10 – Count the Sessions @ $4.40
Count the Sessions looked good winning consecutive races earlier this season, so he’s worth sticking with.
The six-year-old comes off back-to-back placings, so he has been close, and he should be right around the mark again.
We’re happy with the each-way odds available.
Race 7. (19:14) Drummond Golf BM66 (1100m)
#7 – Devine Belief @ $4
There is value with Devine Belief, who owns four wins from eight starts.
The four-year-old mare by Playing God won two of those races at Ascot, so having form on this track helps her chances.
Her odds are likely to firm throughout the week.
Race 8. (19:52) Furphy BM78 (1400m)
#1 – Magnificent Andy @ $5
Magnificant Andy comes off a second placing at Ascot, and his best form comes at Ascot.
The five-year-old son of Magnus owns two wins and five placings at Ascot, and he’s a six-time winner at the distance.
Having Oliver riding adds to his appeal, so take the each-way odds.
