Ascot horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (15:29) Own the Dream Maiden (1400m)
#7 – Watch Me Rock
Watch Me Rock ran second on debut at Pinjarra, which was a terrific opener.
The three-year-old gelding by Awesome Rock was only 1.5 lengths behind the winner, and it won’t take him long to win.
Punters could get each-way odds on race day.
Race 2. (16:06) TBWA Westspeed Platinum (1000m)
#4 – Sinful Living
Sinful Living didn’t do much wrong when running second on debut at Ascot, which is a fine form guide.
The two-year-old filly by Safeguard was a short margin behind the winner following a trial win at Lark Hill.
Rachel King rides, and she should be right in the mix.
Race 3. (16:46) Westspeed Platinum Sires Stakes (1200m)
#4 – Snippy Which
Snippy Which started his career with a win before posting two placings.
The three-year-old colt by Snippetson ran fourth at Ascot last start, and he should be better with that run under his belt.
Getting the inside draw is enough to see him win.
Race 4. (17:26) Westspeed Platinum Mile BM66 (1600m)
#9 – Playz with Fire
Playz with Fire capped off three consecutive second placings with a win at Ascot, which is good form.
The five-year-old mare has yet to finish worse than second in four starts at Ascot, including a win and three placings.
She should be right in the mix at each-way odds.
Race 5. (18:08) Westspeed Platinum Sprint BM72 (1400m)
#3 – Valency
Valency scored consecutive wins at Belmont earlier this preparation before scoring two placings recently.
The five-year-old mare is a past winner at Ascot, and some of her best form comes over the 1400m distance.
Look for a betting push on race day.
Race 6. (18:43) Tab Van Heemst Stakes (2100m)
#5 – Casino Seventeen @ $3.50
Money is with Casino Seventeen didn’t fire at Ascot last start behind Dom to Shoot, which came at Group 1 level.
This is a big drop in class, and the six-year-old could get back to his best, which includes two wins and seven placings at Ascot.
We’re happy to take the odds available.
Race 7. (19:22) Westspeed Platinum Cup BM66 (2100m)
#13 – Play with Desire
Value should be with Play with Desire, who owns two wins from his last three starts.
The four-year-old son of Playing God enjoyed the rise in distance last time out, and rising to 2100m should only help his chances.
Carrying 55kg makes him tough to beat.
Race 8. (19:59) Epona Classic BM66 (1200m)
#1 – Duchess of Gossip
Duchess of Gossip ended last preparation with three consecutive wins, so it won’t take her long to score.
The four-year-old mare by All American has yet to win at Ascot, but she’s a five-time winner from 10 starts overall.
We’re happy to include her in selections.
Race 9. (20:35) TBWA Stallion Tender Scheme BM66 (1200m)
#2 – Playthatfunkymusic
Playthatfunkymusic won four on the bounce earlier this preparation before running fourth last time out.
The four-year-old son of Vert de Grece owns eight wins and seven placings from 20 starts, so he hasn’t done much wrong throughout his career.
Getting 2kg off his back is ideal.
