Belmont horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (13:59) Free Entry to Belmont Park 2YO (1000m)
#4 – Sass Machine
Sass Machine ran second on debut at Ascot and we expect that form to stack up nicely against the small field.
The two-year-old filly looked good when winning consecutive trials at Belmont, so she has good experience on the track.
With William Pike riding, we don’t expect big odds.
Race 2. (14:34) Tabtouch Westspeed Platinum (1600m)
#4 – Black Spirit
Black Spirit kicked off this preparation with consecutive wins and she could get back to that form.
The four-year-old daughter of Blackfriars owns a win and two placings from three starts at Belmont, so this is her favourite surface.
Barrier two with an apprentice claim helps.
Race 3. (15:10) Happy 80th John Short BM66 (2200m)
#3 – Fear the Wind
Fear the Wind comes off consecutive wins at Ascot and there’s no reason why that form won’t translate well to Belmont.
The five-year-old son of Fiorente owns three starts on the track for a win and a placing, so he should be tough to hold out.
It’s another good ride for Pike, so expect the odds to reflect that.
Race 4. (15:50) Have You Got the Touch 3YO (1200m)
#3 – Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral is unbeaten after four starts, including a win at Belmont on debut.
The Casey-trained filly could be a star in the making after three consecutive wins at Ascot, the latest coming by a half-length.
She also owns two trial wins at Belmont, so she has yet to be beaten at all levels.
Race 5. (16:29) Amelia Park BM71 (1000m)
#5 – Real Danger
Real Danger showed good consistency last preparation when winning twice and ending the campaign with a handy placing.
The four-year-old mare by I Am Invincible has yet to fire in two starts at Belmont, but Pike rides and this is her pet distance.
Look for each-way odds fresh up.
Race 6. (17:05) Peninsula Dining Room 1MW (1000m)
#1 – War Gem
War Gem is a three-time winner at Belmont and the four-year-old son of War Chant should go close fresh up.
The Neville Parnham-trained runner has solid fresh up form and getting 2kg off his back helps with the big weight.
Barrier three is another positive, so include.
Race 7. (17:40) Ascend Trophies BM66 (1600m)
#8 – Vast Art
Vast Art owns three wins and three placings from eight starts, so it’s tough to build a case against him.
The three-year-old owns a win at Belmont, so it’s good that he has experience winning on this track.
Carrying 55kg off barrier three is ideal, and that should be reflected in betting markets.
Race 8. (18:15) Skyracing Championship Final BM60 (1400m)
#2 – Keep Attacking @ $3.70
Keep Attacking was too good for them at Pinjarra fresh up and that bodes well for the rest of his campaign.
The four-year-old son of Snippetson has good form at Belmont and there has been solid betting support for him since markets opened.
We expect him to be fighting out the finish.
Race 9. (18:55) Crown Perth 1MW (1400m)
#6 – Ex Sport Girl
Ex Sport Girl is always around the mark, and with two wins and three placings already this preparation, she’s worth backing.
The three-year-old daughter of A Lot has yet to race at Belmont, but her form at Ascot is too good to ignore.
Punters could get value odds.
