Ascot horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (15:34) Magic Millions Plate (1100m)
#4 – Onemoretwomany
Onemoretwomany is on debut for Neville Parnham after some pleasing trial form.
The two-year-old colt by Tassort won at Belmont Park by 1.3 lengths to prepare for this race, so we expect big things.
He only needs luck from the wide barrier.
Race 2. (16:14) WA Racehorse Owners’ Association Plate (1200m)
#6 – The Boss Lady
The Boss Lady comes off consecutive wins at Northam and Ascot, so her form measures up well here.
She won by a half-length last time out as a $10 chance, and punters aren’t going to get the same odds this time around.
Barrier two is ideal, so include her in selections.
Race 3. (16:54) Carbine Club Apprentice Cup BM66 (2200m)
#5 – Diamond Scene
Diamond Scene has turned the corner this preparation with consecutive wins, and he’s worth following.
The four-year-old son of So You Think won the last two at Ascot, and getting 2kg off his back brings him into contention.
Look for a betting push on race day.
Race 4. (17:33) Tabtouch Platinum Series Heat 2 (1200m)
#11 – Fast Flicker
Fast Flicker won well three back at Belmont, and although her form since has been only fair, she has ability.
She is a two-time winner from five starts, including one over the distance, so the form measures up nicely.
Getting down in the weights is another positive.
Race 5. (18:10) Happy 90th Birthday Lorna Ward BM66 (1600m)
#6 – Desennea
The four-year-old has been a good bet this season, including two wins from three starts.
He has yet to fire at Ascot, but his win at Bunbury last time out had a touch of class about it.
Getting each-way odds is likely on race day.
Race 6. (18:50) Luckygray Stakes (1800m)
#1 – Casino Seventeen @ $2.40
Money is with Casino Seventeen owns eight wins and 15 placings from 30 starts, including excellent form at Ascot.
He resumed this preparation with a third placing at Northam, which followed consecutive wins at Pinjarra.
Getting the inside draw with William Pike riding helps.
Race 7. (19:25) Seacorp Fairetha Stakes (1400m)
#5 – Pleasure Cruise @ $4.80
Pleasure Cruise kicked off his career with consecutive wins before running well in tough races.
The three-year-old son of Justify ran second behind Diamond Scene last time out, which should be a good form guide.
It’s another good ride for Pike.
Race 8. (20:02) White Claw Lee Steere Stakes (1400m)
#4 – Marocchino @ $4.20
Marocchino is a professional 13-time winner, including last time out at Ascot.
The seven-year-old son of Maschino owns nine wins at Ascot, so he’s a course specialist, and a deserved favourite.
Getting luck from the draw is all that’s needed.
Race 9. (20:40) Print Hall 1MW (1200m)
#5 – Celebrity Prince
Celebrity Prince has been around the mark throughout his campaign, including a win at Belmont four back.
The son of Xtravagant owns two wins and three placings from eight starts overall, and getting 3kg off his back is ideal.
We’re not leaving him out of calculations.
