Ascot horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (15:39) Amelia Park BM66 (1800m)
#4 – Fine Touch @ $2.25
Fine Touch comes off consecutive wins at Belmont, which should be solid form for racing at Ascot.
The four-year-old mare by Maschino owns four wins from 10 starts overall, so she doesn’t run poorly very often.
The penny has dropped now, so put her on top.
Race 2. (16:14) Conquer Cystic Fibrosis BM66 (1000m)
#8 – Oscar’s Fortune @ $1.80
Oscar’s Fortune is unbeaten after two starts, and he looks like a potential quality type in the making.
The three-year-old won easily as a $1.50 favourite at Belmont, so punters get slightly better odds this time around.
Getting in with 54kg and William Pike riding adds to our confidence.
Race 3. (16:55) Print Hall Plate (1400m)
#2 – Zipaway @ $3.70
Zipaway comes off a win at Belmont, which is an excellent form guide for this season.
The three-year-old gelding by Playing God has yet to win at Ascot from three attempts, but he has been close with two placings.
Barrier four gives him every chance to win.
Race 4. (17:39) Seacorp Westspeed Platinum (1400m)
#3 – Forever Dreaming @ $6
Forever Dreaming hasn’t been far away from the prize this preparation, so we’re taking the value.
The five-year-old mare has yet to win at Ascot, but she has been close on multiple occasions.
Punters get odds worth taking, so include her in selections.
Race 5. (18:15) Project Building Supplies 1MW (1400m)
#6 – Celebrity Prince @ $3.30
Celebrity Prince is always around the mark with two wins and three placings from seven starts.
The four-year-old gelding by Xtravagant won well three back before adding consecutive placings at Belmont and Ascot.
Dropping 3kg in weight is ideal.
Race 6. (18:55) Jayde Kinane BM72 (1200m)
#9 – Ripcord @ $2.25
Ripcord won well on debut at Ascot before rattling off three consecutive placings.
The promising son of Written By is better for recent racing and getting in with only 55.5kg on his back is a bonus.
We expect him to run well as the favourite.
Race 7. (19:30) Furphy R.S. Crawford Stakes (1000m)
#2 – Acromantula @ $3.30
Acromantula is a professional seven-time winner on the track, and he’s looking to bounce back following a tough run in Melbourne.
He should find this race more to his liking and having William Pike in the saddle doesn’t hurt his chances one bit.
We can’t look past his chances to win.
Race 8. (20:05) Eurythmic Stakes (1400m)
#4 – Valour Road @ $4.40
Valour Road comes off a win at Belmont, which was his 10th career win, and that’s tough to overlook.
The eight-year-old brings plenty of experience to the table, and it’s good to see betting moves come for him.
We’re happy to take the each-way odds.
Race 9. (20:40) JP Equity 1MW (1200m)
#12 – Generosity @ $3.10
Generosity capped off two placings with a win at Belmont, so she’s heading in the right direction.
The three-year-old filly by Divine Prophet showed a good turn-of-foot to score, so something similar should be enough.
We’re happy to include her at the price.
