Belmont horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (11:59) Furphy Handicap (1000m)
#3 – Work in Progress @ $2.40 – Bet @ Bet365
Work in Progress didn’t show much in her first two starts before running second at Belmont last time out.
The three-year-old filly shouldn’t take long to win and having had two starts on the track helps her cause.
The odds could shorten on race day.
Race 2. (12:34) Perth Racing Club Membership C1 (1600m)
#1 – Etomorp @ $2.25 – Bet @ Bet365
Etomorp capped off four consecutive second placings with a win at Pinjarra and he could kick on with it now.
The five-year-old has been patiently handled throughout his career and the odds suggest he’s going to rise through the grades.
We expect the odds to stay steady on race day.
Race 3. (13:09) Crown Perth C3 Handicap (1300m)
#1 – Keep Attacking @ $4.40 – Bet @ Bet365
The four-year-old gelding is seeking his third win from four starts and we fancy his chances.
He won at Belmont by just under a length last start and it should be a good form guide going forward.
Barrier four is ideal and punters get each-way odds.
Race 4. (13:44) Free Entry to Belmont BM72 (1600m)
#3 – Brave Dream @ $2.70 – Bet @ Bet365
Brave Dream could have the class edge on this field with four wins and four placings from 15 career starts.
The six-year-old mare should enjoy dropping to 54kg and that could make her tough to beat as the firm favourite.
Barrier four is another positive, so put her on top.
Race 5. (14:23) Amelia Park BM69 (2200m)
#7 – The Velvet Queen @ $1.95 – Bet @ Bet365
The Velvet Queen is always tough to beat with three wins and five placings from 10 starts, so she goes on top.
She does her best racing on the track and she gets in light with 55kg, so that’s a luxury weight for the favourite.
Race 6. (15:03) Bernard Couch Memorial 3YO (1200m)
#8 – Mia Gusto @ $3.10 – Bet @ Bet365
Mia Gusto had plenty of betting support last start and she got the job done by a length.
We expect her to rise through the grades nicely and the daughter of Demerit has won both starts on the track.
Barrier 11 isn’t ideal but she’s the class act.
Race 7. (15:43) Tabtouch Westspeed Platinum (1000m)
#2 – Sockoff @ $6.50 – Bet @ Bet365
The four-year-old mare is better than what she has shown lately and she showed good form earlier on.
She owns three wins from nine starts and all three wins came over this distance, so that’s a positive for the each-way runner.
We’re taking the odds available with the 2kg claimer riding.
Race 8. (16:19) Congrats Laqdar Ramoly BM66 (1400m)
#1 – Phanta @ $2.45 – Bet @ Bet365
Phanta is gunning for three consecutive wins after scoring at Belmont and he could continue his fine run of form.
Getting 2kg off his back is ideal and we expect more money to come for him on race day, so the $2.45 could firm to around $2.10.
Race 9. (17:00) Congrats Chris Parnham Handicap (1400m)
#2 – Kohli @ $5.50 – Bet @ Bet365
Kohli scored an impressive win earlier this preparation and his back-to-back placings since have been solid.
He has yet to win from four attempts at Belmont but with three wins and seven placings from 17 starts, he’s worth including.
Race 10. (17:40) Congrats Adam Durrant 1MW (1600m)
#1 – Catalpa @ $3.50 – Bet @ Bet365
We’re going with Catalpa to score another win following a victory at Belmont.
The four-year-old gelding owns two wins on the track and one at the distance, so the conditions suit and getting 3kg off his back helps.
Barrier three is ideal for the favourite.
Race 11. (18:15) Jockey Celebration BM84 (1400m)
#8 – Ginger Flyer @ $3.70 – Bet @ Bet365
Ginger Flyer is a six-time winner and her experience should come to the fore at Belmont on Saturday.
She comes off a win on the track in heavy conditions and with two wins and five placings on the track, she’s tough to bet against.
Race 12. (18:50) Crown Towers 1MW (1300m)
#6 – Seduce Me @ $4.80 – Bet @ Bet365
There has been solid money for Seduce Me, who won well three back and anything close to that form is good enough.
She is better than what she showed last start and the two-time winner doesn’t have much of a field to beat in the last, so include at each-way odds.
