Belmont horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (13:34) Montague Partners Handicap (1000m)
#4 – Work in Progress
Work in Progress is a two-time winner from nine starts, including consecutive wins last preparation.
The three-year-old filly won both starts at the track and distance, so she has every chance of getting back to winning form.
2kg comes off her back to help with the weight.
Race 2. (14:09) Dickies Tree Services Plate (1000m)
#2 – Pin Deep
Pin Deep comes off consecutive third placings, and it won’t take him long to breakthrough for the win.
The two-year-old colt by Deep Field wasn’t too far behind the winner last time out, and getting 3kg off his back is ideal.
Look for each-way odds on race day.
Race 3. (14:46) Tabtouch Platinum Handicap (1400m)
#3 – Without Reg
Without Reg looked good earlier this preparation with consecutive wins, so we think he’ll get back to that form.
The four-year-old son of War Chant is a two-time winner on the track, and he gets all favours off the inside draw.
The sting out of the surface won’t do his chances any harm.
Race 4. (15:26) WA Owners Appreciation 1MW (1000m)
#1 – Talk It Up
Talk It Up is shooting for his fourth consecutive win after scoring his last three at Kalgoorlie.
The five-year-old gelding has had only one start at Belmont, but his confidence levels are up, so he shouldn’t be worried.
Getting 3kg off his back adds to his appeal.
Race 5. (16:04) Celebrating S Taylor 1MW (1300m)
#3 – Galactic Storm
Galactic Storm was too good for them at Belmont last start, and we predict another victory.
The four-year-old son of Street Boss owns three wins and five placings from 10 starts, so he will be tough to handle.
3kg comes off his back and punters could get each-way odds.
Race 6. (16:39) Free Entry to Belmont BM72 (1650m)
#1 – Vast Art
Vast Art keeps winning and we can’t find a reason not to include him in selections.
The three-year-old gelding by Flying Artie is a four-time winner from five starts at Belmont, so he loves the track.
Barrier nine is tricky, but he only needs a touch of luck to win again.
Race 7. (17:15) Happy 30th L Marinelli BM66 (1400m)
#11 – Exceltrain
Value should be with Exceltrain, who is already a two-time winner this preparation.
The three-year-old son of Spirit of Boom comes off a win at Belmont and getting in with 54.5kg and having William Pike riding helps.
Look for a betting push on race day.
Race 8. (17:55) Montague Belmont Classic (2200m)
#5 – Ihts Closing Inn @ $2.25
Ihts Closing Inn is shooting for five consecutive wins, and she owns three wins from four starts at Belmont.
The impressive three-year-old is a seven-time winner from 14 starts overall, so she doesn’t know how to run a bad race.
It’s another premium ride for Pike.
Race 9. (18:35) Amelia Park BM72 (1200m)
#4 – Cash Away
The four-year-old is better for three runs this preparation, and it’s about time he showed his best form.
Cash Away is a two-time winner at Belmont, so he enjoys the track, and he should go close with a bit of luck in running.
3kg comes off his back, which is a bonus.
