Belmont horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (13:24) Tabtouch Westspeed (1000m)
#3 – Ultimate Command
Ultimate Command didn’t fire at her last two starts, but she looked much better winning prior to that.
The four-year-old doesn’t have a big field to beat on Saturday, so it’s there for the taking, and that should be reflected in betting markets.
Look for a betting push.
Race 2. (13:59) Wa Spirit of Racing BM66 (1000m)
#4 – First Law
First Law was too good for the opposition fresh up, and he followed it up with consecutive placings.
The five-year-old son of Dalghar is a four-time winner at Belmont, so he has done plenty of racing on the circuit.
Barrier two is ideal, so he should go close.
Race 3. (14:39) Durkin Privilege Plate (1200m)
#5 – Khutos
Khutos finished third on debut at Ascot as a $3.70 chance before being sent for a spell.
The two-year-old has since come back with a trial win at Lark Hill, and the booking of William Pike is big.
He’s facing race winners, but he could have the most upside.
Race 4. (15:19) Book Xmas in July BM62 (1200m)
#7 – Berbere
Berbere kicked off his career with consecutive wins before placing at Belmont last time out.
The Williams-trained gelding looks to have a bright future and we expect that to be reflected in betting markets.
Paul Harvey rides and he should guide him to victory.
Race 5. (15:59) Perth Racing Club 1MW (1200m)
#9 – Duchess of Gossip
Duchess of Gossip looked good when winning consecutive races earlier this preparation before placing last start.
The three-year-old daughter of All American was a short margin behind the winner, and getting Pike in the saddle could make the difference.
Look for a betting push on race day.
Race 6. (16:46) Free Entry to Belmont BM66 (2100m)
#3 – Baramagic
Value could be with Baramagic, who comes off a win at Belmont, but he draws wide for this run.
The seven-year-old has time to find cover over this distance, but bookmakers could overreact to drawing barrier 14.
He’s worth including at an each-way price.
Race 7. (17:22) Amelia Park 1MW (1600m)
#4 – Rare Encounter
Rare Encounter scored a gutsy win last time out and we fancy her chances of winning again.
The four-year-old daughter of Al Maher owns a win and two placings at Belmont, so she shouldn’t be worried by the track.
It’s an even field and she could take advantage.
Race 8. (18:00) Beaufine Stakes (1000m)
#9 – Real Danger @ $3.10
Real Danger owns four wins from her last five starts, so she should be tough to beat again.
The four-year-old daughter of I Am Invincible has the speed to beat this field and make it three on the bounce.
Look for a betting push on race day.
Race 9. (18:40) Furphy BM78 (1400m)
#4 – Ginger Baker
Ginger Baker is gunning for his fourth consecutive win after scoring at Belmont his last three.
The in-form runner is a seven-time winner overall, so he’s never too far from the prize, which bodes well.
Barrier 13 isn’t ideal but he should go close.
