Belmont horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (13:59) Free Entry to Belmont Park (1400m)
#1 – Hanchi
Hanchi won on debut by 2.3 lengths at Belmont and a repeat could be looming on Saturday.
The two-year-old son of Squamosa ran at $3.50 odds on that occasion, so punters are likely to get something similar.
Look for a betting push on race day.
Race 2. (14:34) Tabtouch Westspeed Handicap (1400m)
#3 – Civvy Street
Civvy Street was too good for them at Belmont last start and a repeat could be on the cards.
The four-year-old son of War Chant owns two wins and two placings from 13 starts on the track, so he has plenty of experience.
Dropping in weight adds to his chances.
Race 3. (15:09) 50th B’Day M & T Brown (2000m)
#7 – Ihts Closing Inn
Ihts Closing Inn has made a good start to her career with five wins from 12 starts, including a win at Belmont last time out.
The Adam Durrant-trained filly by Sessions has yet to finish worse than third on the track, so we’re picking her to win.
William Pike rides and that adds to our confidence levels.
Race 4. (15:45) Budget Mini Bus BM62 (1200m)
#3 – Supersession
Supersession owns three wins and three placings from seven starts, and some of his best form comes at Belmont.
The three-year-old son of Sessions looks to have a bright future and it’s only the wet track that could stop him on Saturday.
Look for a betting push on race day
Race 5. (16:24) Budget Car & Truck Rental 1MW (1000m)
#4 – Harmika
Harmika has been in excellent form this preparation with a win and two placings.
The four-year-old mare won at Ascot two back before placing at Belmont last time out, which is a nice form guide.
We expect bookmakers to have her at short odds.
Race 6. (17:00) J Aldrich 21st B’Day BM72 (1000m)
#7 – Cash Away
Cash Away doesn’t often run a bad race and we’re happy to include him in our selections.
The four-year-old son of Dash for Cash owns five wins and six placings from 15 starts, so punters get a quality type to bet on.
Look for each-way odds on race day.
Race 7. (17:35) Furphy Strickland Stakes (2000m)
#1 – Dom to Shoot @ $2.35
Dom to Shoot has been well-backed throughout the week and that comes as no surprise.
He’s the class runner of the field, and he showed that when winning three back at Northam, which was a tidy open class field.
Pike rides and he could be too good for them.
Race 8. (18:12) Tabtouch Got the Touch BM66 (1300m)
#2 – Seeable
Seeable kicked off last prep with consecutive wins and he could hit the ground running this time in.
The four-year-old son of War Chant has yet to fire from three attempts at Belmont, but with six wins from 17 starts, he has ability.
Barrier four is ideal and punters should get value odds.
Race 9. (18:46) Amelia Park BM78 (1650m)
#7 – Ginger Baker
Ginger Baker comes off consecutive wins at Belmont, so the course specialist is our top pick.
He owns three wins and five placings from 10 starts at Belmont, so there’s no reason to leave him out.
We expect money to come for him throughout the week, so take the opening offer from bookmakers.
