Belmont horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (14:08) Tabtouch Westspeed Platinum (1000m)
#5 – Tales of Manhattan – Bet @ Bet365
Tales of Manhattan comes off back-to-back wins and he could make a winning start this season.
The four-year-old son of Sessions runs well on rain-affected ground and there is no reason why he can’t hit the ground running.
Watch for positive betting moves.
Race 2. (14:44) Tony Marraffa Plate (1000m)
#4 – Just Go – Bet @ Bet365
Just Go didn’t fire on debut when running sixth but he was much better winning at Belmont last start.
The three-year-old son of Safeguard won narrowly as a $12 chance and he’s not going to be paying those odds again.
We expect him to be fighting out the finish.
Race 3. (15:23) Amelia Park 1MW (1200m)
#8 – Protege – Bet @ Bet365
Protégé looked well above average when winning on debut and a repeat looms for the three-year-old.
The son of Choisir won by four lengths to break his maiden status and dropping to 52kg makes him awfully tough to hold out.
We expect short odds this time around.
Race 4. (16:03) Crown Perth Handicap (1400m)
#5 – Western Knight – Bet @ Bet365
Western Knight won well at Northam fresh up and he followed it up with a handy second placing at Belmont.
The four-year-old son of Iffraaj is every chance of going one better and there are no superstars in this field.
He should be able to take advantage.
Race 5. (16:39) Glenroy Chaff 1MW (1600m)
#3 – Noble Born – Bet @ Bet365
Noble Born is already a two-time winner this campaign and we fancy her chances of adding another.
The four-year-old mare won at Pinjarra fresh up before adding a win at Belmont last start, so it’s a good betting guide.
Barrier four is ideal and we expect short odds.
Race 6. (17:20) Schweppes BM72 (1600m)
#6 – Westriver Miracle – Bet @ Bet365
The five-year-old is a five-time winner from 11 attempts and we fancy his chances of adding to his impressive record.
He is a three-time winner at Belmont and over the distance, so the stats read well and we can’t find any negatives.
Race 7. (17:55) Happy 80th Ted Robbins BM72 (1000m)
#4 – Double Jeopardy – Bet @ Bet365
Double Jeopardy owns two wins from his last three starts and being an older horse hasn’t slowed him down.
The eight-year-old is a two-time winner on the track and having that experience puts him above the rest in this field.
Punters usually get each-way odds.
Race 8. (18:30) Furphy Farnley Stakes (1400m)
#2 – Resortman @ $3 – Bet @ Bet365
Resortman scored by two lengths at Belmont last time out and anything close to that is good enough.
The current favourite is a three-time winner at Belmont and he always races well in big races, so that’s a sign that he handles pressure.
We can’t see his odds moving too far away from his current quote.
Race 9. (19:05) Free Entry to Belmont BM66 (1400m)
#3 – Weaponson – Bet @ Bet365
There should be money for Weaponson, who owns five wins and 12 placings in a consistent career.
The six-year-old gelding runs well on the track and there isn’t much to this field, so he could take advantage.
Punters should get each-way odds.
