Caulfield horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (12:10) Ive Merson Cooper Stakes (1000m)
#9 – Voile @ $3.30
Voile is on debut for James Cummings after showing good speed at the trials and jumpouts.
The two-year-old filly ran third at a Randwick trial before showing good form at the jumpouts, hence the shortening odds.
With Jamie Kah riding, we expect her to go close.
Race 2. (12:40) Become an MRC Member BM70 (1800m)
#4 – Awash @ $4.80
Awash is shooting for his fourth consecutive win after winning at Pakenham, Swan Hill, and Moonee Valley.
His win at The Valley was a tough effort after hitting the line impressively, and that bodes well for future racing.
Punters get each-way odds to snap up.
Race 3. (13:10) Whispering Angel BM84 (2400m)
#11 – Cadmus @ $5.50
Cadmus has been excellent this preparation with two wins and a placing from three starts.
The five-year-old owns three wins and two placings overall, so he has made a good start to his career.
It’s not an easy field, but punters get each-way odds, and he should be fighting out the finish.
Race 4. (13:45) Mercedes-Benz Twilight Glow Stakes (1400m)
#3 – Miraval Rose @ $2
Miraval Rose lost by a nose last time out at Caulfield when getting beaten by a massive long shot.
Take nothing away from the three-year-old filly, who looks to have a bright future, hence the short odds available.
She should be too good for this field based on her form.
Race 5. (14:20) Lamaro’s Hotel Eclipse Stakes (1800m)
#3 – Ain’tnodeeldun @ $3.30
Ain’tnodeeldun has turned the corner this season with three impressive wins.
The Freedman-trained gelding won at The Valley twice and Sandown, and all three wins have been a level above the opposition.
Carrying 55.5kg is a steal for a runner of his talent.
Race 6. (15:00) Kevin Heffernan Stakes (1400m)
#10 – Unusual Culture @ $5.50
Unusual Culture has yet to fire at Caulfield, but the five-year-old mare is an impressive type at her best.
She owns five wins and six placings from 17 starts, including two wins over the 1400m distance.
Having Craig Williams in the saddle helps, and punters should enjoy getting the each-way odds.
Race 7. (15:40) Neds Sandown Guineas (1600m)
#1 – Arkansaw Kid @ $2.30
Arkansaw Kid ran third behind Run Harry Run last time out, which is a good form guide for the Sandown Guineas.
The three-year-old colt by Harry Angel ran fourth in the Group 1 Coolmore prior to that, so his experience at Group 1 level helps.
We’re happy with the odds, so include him in multis.
Race 8. (16:20) Whispering Angel Zipping Classic (2400m)
#11 – Deny Knowledge @ $5.50
Deny Knowledge denied them at Flemington last time out, and she could handle this level of racing.
The six-year-old mare is a past winner at Caulfield, and with seven wins on her record, she’s good enough to take this field.
Getting the inside draw with Kah riding helps.
Race 9. (17:00) Tile Importer Summoned Stakes (1600m)
#1 – Revolutionary Miss @ $2.60
Revolutionary Miss sprinted powerfully to win at Cranbourne last start when beating Kazou.
Being on the one-week backup is ideal for this runner as she thrives on confidence, and she’s classy at best.
We expect her to keep winning.
Race 10. (17:40) Premier Signs Doveton Stakes (1200m)
#9 – Extremely Lucky @ $13
We have backed Extremely Lucky a few times throughout his career and we’re not going to jump off now.
He’s not running at his best, but he showed good form early on in his career, and he just needs the right run in transit.
Carrying 54kg from barrier two could work in his favour.
