Caulfield horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (12:15) Premier Signs BM100 (2000m)
#1 – Bermadez @ $3.50
Bermadez didn’t flash home last start, but he did enough to get the job done against a small field.
The seven-year-old son of Tavistock is a seven-time winner, and we’re not concerned by the rise in distance.
We’re happy with the odds.
Race 2. (12:45) Herald Run BM78 (2400m)
#7 – Oceanic Flash @ $4.60
Oceanic Flash has improved with every run this preparation, including a second placing at Flemington last start.
The six-year-old son of Sacred Falls is only a four-time winner, but he’s much better than that.
It’s his first run at Caulfield, and a change in scenery could see his form improve.
Race 3. (13:20) MRC Clip Clop Club BM70 (1600m)
#9 – Another Wil @ $2
Another Wil was too strong for the field at Sandown last time out when scoring by 3.5 lengths.
The four-year-old gelding by Street Boss opened at $1.95 before drifting to $2, which is a fair price given his talent.
Barrier 12 shouldn’t be a problem over this distance.
Race 4. (13:55) Hyland Race Colours Autumn Stakes (1400m)
#2 – Carbonados @ $4.50
Carbonados didn’t fire last time out at Caulfield, but we expect him to bounce back.
The three-year-old son of Belardo opened his account with consecutive victories in New Zealand and Geelong, so that form bodes well.
Getting the inside draw is another bonus, so put him on top.
Race 5. (14:30) The Big Screen T.S. Carlyon Cup (1600m)
#6 – Foxy Cleopatra @ $3.20
Foxy Cleopatra struggled at Ballarat in heavy conditions, but she’s better on good ground.
The four-year-old mare by American Pharoah owns a win and four placings from seven starts, which is ideal form.
She’s another runner with the inside draw and a light weight.
Race 6. (15:05) Sportsbet Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m)
#3 – Bodyguard @ $2.80
Bodyguard couldn’t have been more impressive on debut when winning down the Flemington straight.
The Snowden-trained colt was an expensive sales purchase, and he’s doing everything he can to repay the owners.
Barrier eight makes it tough, but he has upside.
Race 7. (15:40) Sportsbet Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m)
#1 – Bold Bastille @ $2.30
Bold Bastille won on debut at The Valley by three lengths, which is a nice form guide.
This race is much harder, but the two-year-old filly looked professional when leading and kicking clear.
We’re happy to take the short odds from bookmakers.
Race 8. (16:15) McCafe Rubiton Stakes (1100m)
#4 – Asfoora @ $3.30
Asfoora is a talented sprinter who owns three fresh up wins and four wins at Caulfield.
The five-year-old mare is also a five-time winner over the distance, and she looks ready to jump and run.
It’s a tough field, but we thought her odds would have been shorter.
Race 10. (17:35) Senet Peter Le Grand Stakes (1100m)
#7 – Blanc de Blanc @ $3.30
We haven’t seen Blanc de Blanc for almost a year, but her recent trial form has been good.
The talented daughter of I Am Invincible owns a win and four placings from six starts, and she owns over $600,000 in stakes.
Barrier two is a blessing, and she could hit the ground running.
