2024 Coolmore Classic Form Guide & Tips
(1) Zougotcha (Best Bet – $4.00)
Zougotcha was too good for them in a tough race last start, which is why she’s the favourite for the Coolmore Classic.
She is classy at best, and having James McDonald in the saddle is a bonus, and the odds are worth taking.
(2) Revolutionary Miss ($14.00)
She’s in grand form with four wins from her last five starts, so we’re not leaving her out of calculations.
We’re surprised by the odds available, and we would have priced her around $9.
(3) Semana (Best Each Way – $8.50)
Semana is on the rise after consecutive wins, and she’s good enough to handle the rise in class.
She is drawn to get a nice trip in transit from barrier 11, and if she gets a drag into the race, she could slingshot the field late.
(4) Vienna Princess ($16.00)
She’s better for having her fresh up fourth, and she went under the radar last preparation.
Carrying 55.5kg with Kerrin McEvoy in the saddle helps, and she’s worth including in selections at the price.
(5) Hinged ($19.00)
We gave Hinged one last chance last time out against a much easier field, so we can’t have her in our selections.
(6) Tropical Squall ($7.00)
That was a fine win last time out and she could lead from the front again.
She has enough ability as a three-year-old to lead throughout, despite drawing wide in barrier 17.
(7) Deny Knowledge ($26.00)
She hasn’t had much support throughout the week, which is concerning.
We think she might need another couple of runs.
(8) Foxy Frida ($31.00)
She will get back and rely on a lot of luck to get past the field in the straight.
We’re not sure if she’s up to this level of racing.
(9) Madame Pommery ($35.00)
Her best form usually comes in the spring, and although she’s from the Waller stable, we’re not putting her in our selections.
The barrier makes it harder.
(10) Renaissance Woman ($51.00)
She’s not running well enough to figure in the finish, hence the big odds.
(11) Yonce (Best Roughie – $13.00)
She got back to her best form last start and we’re happy to include her in our selections at the odds.
She gets every chance off the inside draw with a light weight, so there won’t be any excuses.
(12) Barbie’s Fox ($61.00)
She’s past her best and we need to something better before including her in selections.
(13) Hell Hath No Fury ($31.00)
The Neasham-trained runner is in good form at lower levels, and she needs to improve to beat this field.
We would prefer to back her in something much easier.
(14) More Secrets ($27.00)
Money has come for her following a third placing last time out. She has ability, and the light weight makes her a chance.
(15) Ausbred Flirt ($46.00)
We can’t see her getting into the thick of the action. Drawing barrier 18 doesn’t help.
(16) Jennilala ($11.00)
We liked the win last start, and she hasn’t been missed in betting markets.
We’re happy to include her in first four selections at the price.
(17) Kimochi ($8.50)
After opening at $16, her odds have been slashed. That’s a good sign, and she had no luck last time out.
Carrying 50.5kg is ideal, so she could get back to winning form.
(18) Barby’s Doll ($151.00)
Big odds and she’s unlikely to win.
