Cranbourne horse racing tips & form
—
Race 1. (17:45) Ladbrokes Lounge BM64 (1200m)
#5 – Time of My Life @ $2.40
Time of My Life ran well on debut at Geelong, and she could remain unbeaten.
The three-year-old daughter of I Am Invincible won by 1.8 lengths as a $4.60 chance, and we’re not surprised by the shorter odds here.
We expect money to come for her.
Race 2. (18:15) AFC Peter & Lavella Darose Maiden (1200m)
#5 – Jenni So Pretty @ $4.50
Jenni So Pretty is on debut for the Maher/Eustace stable, and the Jenni runners have a good strike rate.
The four-year-old mare by American Pharoah didn’t do much in a trial at Cranbourne, but she wasn’t asked for much.
She then won a jumpout, so that checks out nicely.
Race 3. (18:45) Stables Plus Connections Corinthian (1200m)
#1 – Dishy’s @ $4.80
Dishy’s has to carry a big weight in the country race, but the eight-year-old has plenty of upside.
The son of Duporth owns a win and two placings from four starts at Cranbourne, and punters get each-way odds.
He comes off a win, and that form bodes well.
Race 4. (19:15) Frankston Sand & Soil Maiden (1500m)
#5 – Pavliani @ $2.90
Pavliani didn’t fire in two runs during her first preparation, but changing stables could work.
The four-year-old mare by Pierro comes off a nice jumpout performance for second after racing wide throughout.
After opening at $4.40, she has been heavily backed to win.
Race 5. (19:45) Frankston North Rotary Maiden (2520m)
#4 – Master of Illusion @ $4.20
Master of Illusion started his campaign with three consecutive placings, and a return to that form is good enough.
The five-year-old didn’t fire at Swan Hill last time out, but he’s good enough to turn that run around.
Getting the inside draw at each-way odds is ideal.
Race 6. (20:15) Polytrack BM64 (2520m)
#2 – Glamdam @ $4.40
Glamdam needs a touch of luck from a wide barrier, but she has time to find cover.
The six-year-old mare owns five wins and seven placings from 23 starts, which is a handy record at this level.
2kg comes off her back to help with the weight.
Race 7. (20:45) Melbourne Cup Country BM64 (1500m)
#11 – Lady Hampton @ $6
Lady Hampton runs her best races second-up, including three starts for a win and a placing.
The five-year-old mare has yet to race at Cranbourne, but she should enjoy running at this track.
Barrier 16 makes it hard, but we’re happy with the each-way odds.
Race 8. (21:15) No Fuss Event Hire Pinker Pinker Plate (2025m)
#6 – Rick’s Café @ $5.50
The Pinker Pinker Plate isn’t the race it used to be, but Rick’s Café is a solid each-way chance.
The eight-year-old mare is a four-time winner from 12 starts, and her effort for third at Sandown bodes well.
It’s an even field, and she could get it done.
Race 9. (21:45) Ladbrokes Hub BM64 (1300m)
#3 – Bombastic Boy @ $4.40
Bombastic Boy won well fresh up at Cranbourne before placing at Moe.
The five-year-old son of Kermadec owns two wins from seven starts, and we’re surprised by the each-way odds.
Carrying 60kg is the only worry.
