Doomben horse racing tips & form
—
Race 1. (13:28) Stradbroke Season on Sale Maiden (1110m)
#11 – Blue Eye Dame
Blue Eye Dame ran second on debut at Toowoomba, and she looks good enough to handle this level of racing.
The two-year-old filly by Blue Point was a short margin behind the winner as a $19 shot, and she’ll be shorter this time around.
Getting the inside draw helps her chances.
Race 2. (14:03) Mount Franklin Maiden (1350m)
#6 – Skywriter
Looking to cap off five placings from seven starts is Skywriter, who is overdue a winning run.
The Chris Waller-trained mare ran second at Mornington and Bendigo before coming to Queensland for something easier.
She comes off a trial win at Gold Coast, which bodes well.
Race 3. (14:38) Sky Racing C3 (1650m)
#2 – Ella Te Ama
Value could be with Ella Te Ama, who hasn’t been too far away from the mark this season.
The experienced five-year-old owns three wins and five placings, and her effort for fourth at Eagle Farm last start warrants attention.
Getting 2kg off her back is an asset.
Race 4. (15:13) Opera QLD Regional Maiden (1200m)
#1 – About to Explode
About to Explode is on debut for Tony Gollan, and he could make a winning start to his career.
The three-year-old gelding by Spirit of Boom comes off a trial placing at Doomben, and Gollan doesn’t usually ask them for much.
Betting will be a great guide on race day.
Race 5. (15:48) MM Qtis Sale Monday Maiden (1200m)
#6 – Elaea
Looking to go one better than her debut run is Elaea, who ran second at Sunshine Coast.
That run came in heavy conditions, which likely didn’t suit the daughter of Bolt D’oro. However, she could improve on a better track.
Her turn-of-foot could be enough to see her win this race.
Race 6. (16:23) XXXX Gold C5 (1200m)
#2 – Bubba’s Bay
Bubba’s Bay has been right around the mark this preparation, including three consecutive third placings.
The four-year-old mare is a four-time winner, so she’s good enough to win races, and she won her only start at Doomben.
Getting 2kg off her back adds to her chances.
Race 7. (16:58) Become a BRC Member BM65 (1110m)
#7 – Bonded Affair
Bonded Affair showed good consistency last preparation, scoring a win and placing three times.
The Stuart Kendrick-trained son of Nicconi ran third at Eagle Farm last start behind Weigall Tiger, which is open class racing.
Dropping in grade should be enough to see him win.
Race 8. (17:32) Souths Sports Club BM65 (1110m)
#8 – La Petite Maison
La Petite Maison showed good toughness to score at Doomben last start, and we’re backing him to win again.
He is a quality son of Spirit of Boom, who showed good early speed before holding off the rest of the field.
There’s no reason why he can’t keep winning.
Race 9. (18:10) Ladbrokes Same Race Multi BM65 (1350m)
#1 – Living Free
Living Free won well fresh up at Gold Coast before finishing second at Doomben last time out.
That was a nice track debut from the son of Free Eagle, who owns two wins and four placings from eight starts.
He’s good enough to notch another win at each-way odds.
