Doomben racing tips & form
—
Race 1. (11:48) U&U Recruitment C6 (1600m)
#6 – Rising Pacific @ $4.60
Rising Pacific has improved with every run this preparation, including a second placing last time out at Eagle Farm.
The four-year-old gelding by Preferment owns a win and a placing from three starts at Doomben, which adds to his appeal.
Having Jamie Kah in the saddle helps.
Race 2. (12:23) The Star BM78 (1350m)
#9 – Weigall Tiger @ $3.30
Weigall Tiger doesn’t know how to run a bad race after nine starts for four wins and three placings.
The three-year-old gelding by Saxon Warrior has yet to race at Doomben, but it’s a track that should suit his running style.
Getting weight off his back helps.
Race 3. (12:58) Moreton Hire Plate (1350m)
#2 – The Instructor @ $5.50
The Instructor turned his form around when winning at Canterbury last time out, and he could win again.
He is a quality type on his day, and although he’s not always the most consistent type going around, he has natural speed.
Look for him to push forward and go close.
Race 4. (13:33) JRA Chairman’s Handicap (2000m)
#6 – Deny Knowledge @ $4.20
Deny Knowledge is a seven-time winner from 31 starts, and he comes off some tidy efforts.
The six-year-old mare by Pride of Dubai owns a win over this distance, and it’s another good ride for Kah.
Punters should take the each-way odds.
Race 5. (14:08) Sky Racing Member’s Handicap (1600m)
#11 – Gringotts @ $2.50
Gringotts doesn’t know how to run a bad race with 12 starts for six wins and five placings.
It doesn’t get much better than that and he has been excellent in two wins at Rosehill and Tamworth this preparation.
Getting in with 53.5kg makes him an attractive bet.
Race 6. (14:43) Spirit of Boom Classic (1200m)
#5 – Angel Capital @ $3.20
Angel Capital won well on debut when showing a good turn-of-foot, so he’s worth backing again.
The son of Harry Angel came from the back with a good effort, and it’s another premium ride for Kah.
He’s likely to settle back from the draw and come with a big late run.
Race 7. (15:22) Magic Millions Bright Shadow (1110m)
#1 – Parisal @ $3.30
Parisal couldn’t have been more impressive when winning fresh up at Hawkesbury, which is a good form guide.
The James Cummings-trained mare is unbeaten in four starts over the distance, and having James McDonald in the saddle helps.
Getting $3.30 is a value price for a class runner.
Race 8. (16:02) Doomben 10,000 (1200m) – GROUP 1

Race 9. (16:38) Seven Rough Habit Plate (2000m)
#15 – Autumn Angel @ $2.60
Class is with Autumn Angel, who comes off a win in the ATC Oaks.
The Group 1 winner owns four wins and four placings from nine starts, and she’s a strong three-year-old.
Getting in with a light weight adds to her appeal, and punters get value odds for the best horse in the race.
