Eagle Farm horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (11:38) Sky Racing C3 (1000m)
#10 – Barassi @ $2.35
Barassi showed good form last preparation, including a win at Gold Coast in a tough maiden race.
That form has since stacked up with Pure Paradise, and that’s why he has been heavily backed to win after opening at $2.80.
There is plenty of upside with the opening favourite.
Race 2. (12:13) Baker Refrigeration Handicap (2200m)
#8 – Red Wave @ $3.90
Red Wave has been a model of consistency this preparation and punters deserve a winning turn.
The five-year-old gelding by Red Dazzler is a five-time winner, so he has ability, but he keeps finding one or two better.
However, we’re happy to back him at the odds.
Race 3. (12:48) Mount Franklin Lightly Sparkling BM70 (1400m)
#12 – More Trouble @ $14.00
Had More Trouble drawn a barrier, he would have been much shorter in the betting market.
We’re loving the odds available for a quality two-time winner, who comes off an easy trial win at Deagon by 4.5 lengths.
Given the nature of this field, he’s well worth backing.
Race 4. (13:23) Youth Empowerment by the Cage BM85 (1600m)
#10 – Iverson @ $2.90
Iverson owns two wins and a placing from three starts this preparation, including a win at Eagle Farm last time out.
The six-year-old son of So You Think gets all favours from the draw and dropping to 52.5kg makes him one of the better bets.
Punters should expect his odds to firm.
Race 5. (13:58) Fresh Selections Green Thumbs BM68 (1805m)
#12 – Sacred Feeling @ $2.60
Sacred Feeling has been backed and beaten this season, but we’re prepared to give her another chance.
The four-year-old mare loves racing at Eagle Farm with two starts for a win and a placing, so that bodes well.
She should be right in the mix at the odds.
Race 6. (14:33) Heart of the Community C6 (1400m)
#10 – Outlawed @ $4.00
Outlawed has been a bit below her best in three runs this time in, but she’s a classy mare at her best.
She owns four wins and six placings from 16 starts, including a win and a placing from five starts at Eagle Farm.
Dropping to 53kg makes her the one to beat.
Race 7. (15:12) Community Co BM88 (1200m)
#4 – Millane @ $4.20
There is good value with Millane, who won well fresh up before finishing second behind Bubba’s Bay last time out.
He was only a nose behind the winner, and he was unlucky not to win. However, punters can get their money back on Saturday.
He only needs a touch of luck to win.
Race 8. (15:52) Ladbrokes Ascot Quality (1000m)
#1 – Prince of Boom @ $3.60
Class is with Prince of Boom, who is a proven fresh up winner.
The five-year-old gelding is an eight-time winner from 20 starts, and three of those wins have come at Eagle Farm.
Getting the inside draw is a massive bonus over this distance.
Race 9. (16:28) Jones & Co IGA Daybreak Lover (1400m)
#5 – Press Link @ $2.70
Press Link is unbeaten after three starts, including wins at Doomben and last time out at Eagle Farm.
The three-year-old son of Press Statement won by 2.5 lengths last time out, and we thought he would be shorter with bookmakers.
He gets every run from barrier four, so there won’t be any excuses.
