Eagle Farm horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (11:38) Stradbroke Calcutta on Sale Now BM75 (1815m)
#4 – Dark Harmony @ $5.50
Dark Harmony is getting closer to winning after four runs this preparation, and we’re happy to include him in selections.
The four-year-old son of Mikki Isle is a two-time winner at Eagle Farm, so having winning form on the track helps.
Robbie Dolan rides from barrier four, so take the each-way odds.
Race 2. (12:13) Mount Franklin BM78 (2400m)
#6 – Vaguer @ $4.20
Vaguer looked good scoring consecutive wins earlier this preparation, so that form checks out.
The four-year-old son of Lope De Vega owns three wins from 10 starts, and dropping to 55kg makes him dangerous.
He’s the loose favourite, so snap up the odds.
Race 3. (12:48) Stradbroke Season Book Now Handicap (1200m)
#7 – Pareto @ $3.90
Pareto is on debut after winning a trial easily at Doomben, and we’re not surprised by the odds.
The two-year-old gelding by Pierata gets barrier seven, so he should get a back to follow into the race.
Watch for any late betting moves on race day.
Race 4. (13:23) Sky Racing BM75 (1400m)
#11 – Starry Eyes @ $6.50
Starry Eyes has been around the mark this season, including three placings from four starts this campaign.
The four-year-old gelding by Needs Further has yet to win at Eagle Farm, but there isn’t much depth to this field.
With luck from the draw, he should be right in the mix.
Race 5. (13:58) Tom Treston BM90 (1300m)
#7 – Bettcha the Crown @ $6.50
Bettcha the Crown doesn’t know how to run a bad race after posting four wins and five placings from 15 starts.
The Desleigh Forster-trained gelding runs good races at Eagle Farm, and he wants a firm surface to show his best form.
Getting each-way odds is generous from bookmakers.
Race 6. (14:33) Ladbrokes Mick Dittman Plate (1000m)
#7 – Skirt the Law @ $2.70
Skirt the Law has class on her side, and she could get back to winning form on Saturday.
The three-year-old filly by Better than Ready gets in with 55kg, which makes her tough to beat here.
She only needs cover from barrier nine to figure in the finish.
Race 7. (15:08) XXXX BM85 (1000m)
#7 – Frilled @ $4.80
Frilled won her first five race day starts before being beaten at her last two.
The four-year-old mare by Star Witness owns five wins from seven starts, and racing at Eagle Farm should suit her.
We’re loving the odds available.
Race 8. (15:47) Moreton Hire Brisbane Mile (1600m)
#8 – Overriding @ $8.00
Overriding comes off a win at Newcastle, which was his fifth win from 11 career starts.
The four-year-old daughter of Star Turn showed a good turn-of-foot to win, and getting the inside draw with a light weight is ideal.
Getting $8.00 is tough to overlook.
Race 9. (16:23) Aquis Stallions Princess Stakes (1600m)
#2 – Exotique Miss @ $4.40
Value is with Exotique Miss, who has rattled off three consecutive wins in fine style.
The three-year-old filly by Under the Louvre owns three wins from five starts at Eagle Farm, and only the wide barrier is against her.
She needs luck, but put her on top.
