Eagle Farm horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (13:13) Vale Alan Jock Gollogy BM78 (2200m)
#5 – I Am the Empire @ $3.80
I Am the Empire has been around the mark throughout his career, including three wins and eight placings.
The five-year-old son of Camelot has yet to fire in three attempts at Eagle Farm, but we’re happy to give him another chance.
From the Neasham stable, he should be ready to go.
Race 2. (13:48) Girls Day Out on Sale Now BM70 (1600m)
#6 – Deep Tempest @ $5.50
Value is with Deep Tempest, who won well at Sunshine Coast two starts back.
The five-year-old son of Ocean Park followed it up with a third placing, and he usually shows good early speed.
He has been specked at each-way odds, so take them before they shorten.
Race 3. (14:23) Ladbrokes City to Surf Plate (1600m)
#1 – Weigall Tiger @ $1.50
Weigall Tiger is gunning for his fifth consecutive win after scoring at Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, and Eagle Farm.
The impressive son of Saxon Warrior won by a length as a $1.80 chance last start, so we’re not surprised by the shorter odds.
Put him on top to win again.
Race 4. (14:58) XXXX Handicap (1000m)
#6 – Bossed Up @ $3.40
Bossed Up won at Sunshine Coast last time out, which is good enough form for this race.
The three-year-old gelding by Better than Ready has yet to race at Eagle Farm, but he had a trial here in October.
His odds are drifting, but he’s worth backing.
Race 5. (15:33) BRC Membership Plus BM78 (1820m)
#1 – Manbehindthemoney @ $4.80
Manbehindthemoney didn’t fully fire last time out when eighth, but we’re sticking with him.
He is a four-time winner from 14 starts, and getting 2kg off his back, and coming to Queensland helps his cause.
Take the each-way odds available.
Race 6. (16:12) Magic Millions B.J. McLachlan Stakes (1200m)
#1 – Storm Boy @ $1.35
Storm Boy is all the rage in the stakes field and rightfully so after winning on debut at Rosehill.
The two-year-old colt by Justify won by 2.3 lengths as an $1.85 chance, and the shorter odds are justified.
He should be winning this race based on what we’ve seen.
Race 7. (16:52) Channel 7 Bernborough Plate (1600m)
#1 – Acquitted @ $2.20
Acquitted comes off a win at Doomben, and he’s good enough to go back-to-back.
The seven-year-old son of Night of Thunder won his only start at Eagle Farm, so he likes this track and the distance.
$2.20 is getting short, but we’re happy to include him in selections.
Race 8. (17:32) Magic Millions Falvelon (1200m)
#1 – Spacewalk @ $3.90
Spacewalk is likely to stalk the speed set by Zarastro and finish over the top of the favourite.
The James Cummings-trained four-year-old owns five wins and nine placings from 19 starts, so he’s a nice type in the making.
Zarastro can get tired late, so look for Spacewalk to finish hard.
Race 9. (18:12) Season Greetings from BRC C3 (1200m)
#10 – Bezique @ $2.70
Bezique is shooting for three consecutive wins having won at Doomben.
The four-year-old mare by Spirit of Boom won by 1.5 lengths as a short-price favourite last start, so punters get better odds.
This is a harder race but put him on top.
Race 10. (18:52) Eva Air Evergreen BM85 (1400m)
#12 – Freedom Rally @ $2.70
Freedom Rally is better for two runs this preparation, including a second placing at Sunshine Coast fresh up.
The son of Rubick owns four wins from eight starts, so he has won half his career starts, which is a fine record.
His odds have drifted but we’re happy to include him.
